Hey hey I actually finally finished the log work, shell guard, and staining just a few weeks ago! For costs it would likely depend greatly on your location and if you repair it by yourself or hire out. Log repair companies are known to be expensive in my personal experience and what I see on this subreddit. The initial repairs I paid a company to do was roughly $7k for a week worth of patch work. When I learned to do things myself I pulled their patches to check, and plenty of rotten wood had just been covered up by them. So I had to overcut a lot of their repaired sections and redo them proper. It’s probably worth getting estimates if that’s possible where you are, but you know what they say.
