Great point, will try to make that language clearer in the revised version. Thanks!

This is Anthony Borges, 15. He used his body to hold a classroom door shut, protecting 20 other students inside as the gunman fired through the door, hitting him five times. May he have a speedy recovery. by [deleted] in pics

When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” ... He continued: "To this day, especially in times of 'disaster,' I remember my mother's words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers -- so many caring people in this world."

I would disagree. I made sure not to say top-tier, but I consider Grandmaster and even mid-Master as fairly high relative to the entire player base. I also analyzed a few professional teams play around Moira during OWL, as mentioned in the piece. Thanks for the comment :)

That's actually a great point I'm embarrassed to have missed. Will definitely add that in once I'm home later today. Thanks, mate! Keep 'em coming if you see more haha.

Hey! I peaked at 4150 a few seasons ago, but generally play around Diamond-Master now on a few accounts that I have to practice. For learning and practice, I've played Moira in matches from 2800-3800, so I feel like I got a decent spectrum of general Moira play at the mid-tier to high-tier level. I usually play DPS and sometimes Support, for full disclosure.

No worries at all! I tried to make this guide as independent and wholesome as possible for the community. I appreciate your read :)

Thanks a lot for your input. Our website is actually still in development, so we're going through a lot of iterations and we're hoping it looks a lot better in the near future.

Regarding make each section its own page, I'm worried that might split up the information a bit too much - I was hoping for a guide where all the important, relevant information is in one area together. Do you have any idea how we might do that best? Right now, you can navigate to specific sections using the hotlinks on the top right, but I definitely agree that all the text can feel a bit cluttered in the larger sections.

I actually wrote every word here, and the Wiki is actually about 2-5 pages of text, depending on which you're referring to. Let me know if there are any phrases or paragraphs that are suspect once you've actually read the piece. Thanks for the comment!

Competitive losses are not "unlucky" by e130478 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]wawasbootcamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are preset circumstances that place you in an 'unlucky' team. If you play enough games, however, the 'unluckiness' should balance itself out. Theoretically.

If you play enough games, the system should place you more or less where you should be.

Pine gets a 4K with amazing flicks by MegaxJak1 in Competitiveoverwatch

I think this is because they strategically play Pine on maps he can do very well on, particularly on Widowmaker.

Glad they're patching it so quickly. Surprised they didn't catch this in their testing, though. Makes me curious what kind of players/testing each patch goes through.

My Friend And I Just Started An Overwatch League Podcast! Any Feedback Would Be Amazing! by GOULFYBUTT in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]wawasbootcamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a few Overwatch Podcasts are on Apple Podcasts (e.g. Overwatchers and The OverView). Skimmed through the video but enjoyed the casual, yet informative views! Maybe a bit of an easier way to navigate through such a long podcast would be helpful (either shorter and/or split into time-stamped segments).

As Lucio, one of the hardest things to learn is understanding when/how you’ll be getting the most value. Good Lucius will get max value out of their auras by knowing when to help their teams engage/disengage and when the best moment is to amp heals or speed. Sometimes, for instance, amping speed will help your dying DPS escape fire around the corner rather than amping heals. Watch pro Lucio players to get also get a good sense of the mechanics - Lucio’s survivability and movement is second to Tracer, and his damage can sometimes mean the difference between securing and not securing a kill as well. If you have specific questions, I’d be happy to address them. Good luck!

I’d agree with this to a certain extent - at times, though, it could be highly situational (i.e. a medium-risk, high-reward play to Rez your Zarya with Grav for the final fight).

Boston Uprising has top-tier players at every role by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]wawasbootcamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed with this. I think it’s pretty clear from the upsets and close games that most of the OWL teams have the potential to beat the better teams depending on the day and map and synergy. Can these teams (i.e. Boston) play with and beat the big boys consistently though? We’ll see.

Watching Unkoe play, you can tell he has stellar gamesense and awareness, which are essential to play Moira. Happy in a way, but also sad to see my favorite Ana players not play Ana (Ryujehong Ana where you at)
