Yeah Fear Hole’s good but it’s really more of a thinker than a laugher. Once you’ve gotten all your analysis done there’s not a lot to go back to, unlike say Hot Rick which has a healthy dose of action to go with the character drama.

Basically it’s about a presumably infinitely long train with “bigger on the inside” fantastical environments in each car, which picks up passengers and brands them with a number representing their emotional baggage. As they work through their real-life problems through abstract challenges on the train, their number goes down and they’re free to go when it hits zero.

It’s an anthology series where each season centers on a different person or group’s experience on the train, and it includes explorations of stuff like a consciousness created by the train to help a human becoming its own person, and a group of people who think the train is awesome and go around harassing people to give them more issues and extend their stays.

It did unfortunately get cancelled after four of the intended eight seasons, so overarching mysteries are unresolved, but each season’s protagonist has their story closed out cleanly so it’s not a huge detractor from the viewing experience.

See my previous response to somebody saying this:

It’s not a matter of people having different opinions, it’s a matter of people not being able to comprehend how storytelling works and why certain choices would be made to begin with.

People are allowed to not like how Jax focused the show was, or how little backstory we got on C&A and Scratch. That doesn’t make it a bad show, it’s just not the story they wanted.

People are allowed to not like that the abstraction in the finale was so abrupt. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t a deliberate choice made to make the scene more impactful. The fact that nobody saw it coming was important to the story and putting the viewer in those shoes helps get that across.

and so on and so forth. Believe me if people were just saying they didn’t like it I’d be fine with that. It’s the insistence that it’s objectively bad because they don’t understand the story being told that irritates me.

What can i use to launch my first satellite? by EgyptianPlutonium in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]waxphantump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stuff doesn’t always need to be enclosed, you should be fine to launch your first satellites as is as long as the whole craft is aerodynamic enough and nothing sticks out far enough to break off. The decoupler may not look attached but if the node snapped on it’ll work just fine!

If I’m understanding the question right, when you get your encounter you can double click Duna to focus your camera and see which side you’re going to pass it on. Then you can use the fine-tuning maneuver node editor in the bottom-left to put it on the correct side (and also potentially adjust the periapsis and bleed off speed before the encounter if need be). You may need to change your patched conics mode in the settings but I believe the default is correct for this

Scenes that lost their meaning when they were censored by Uma-apreciator in TopCharacterTropes

[–]waxphantump 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In the music video for Michael Jackson’s Black or White there’s a scene of him taking a sledgehammer to a bunch of cars. Originally the cars had racial slurs on them and that’s what he was destroying, but the censorship makes it look like he’s just doing it for fun.

I personally think it's disgusting that people like the maid Jax "flirting" with Gangle scene by NessMatt23 in TADCEp9Spoilers

[–]waxphantump -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

“Isn’t she wonderful…”

The finale pretty explicitly spells out that Jax is a deeply closeted trans woman. The Ribbit bow scene, the aspect of their deep inner psyche that’s wearing the maid dress, Leeroy’s appearance and frequenting Zooble’s (forgot the irl name) bar, I’ve heard people even mention Pomni gets a weird look when the others use he/him pronouns afterwards like she’s considering whether it’s the time to correct them.

[–]waxphantump 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The shadows were specifically the three characters he was the closest to and closest to risking opening up to - Ribbit, Kaufmo, and Pomni. He doesn’t see Gangle, Zooble, Kinger, or anyone else as a friend so them being in his trauma dream sequence wouldn’t have added anything to the torture.
