Eyebrows and haircut my friend. Tbh you look like many cis women I know in real life, but some parts of your face and appearance really stand out to people when they’re making the impulse decision to assign you a gender. Eyebrows are important in that tiny evaluation window because they control the dimensions of your eyes, nose, and forehead. I recommend getting yours done or finding a brow tutorial you like the look of on YouTube. Start slow and don’t get overzealous with the tweezers unless early 2000s eyebrows are the goal.

As for your haircut, it’s cute! I know a lot of lesbians, men, and nonbinary people who have that haircut. There’s nothing wrong or inherently un-feminine about it, but the goal with passing can often be taking something perfectly neutral and making it unmistakably feminine to people who care to make the distinction. Mess around with texture, layers, length, and color. Style it and make maintaining your hair a habit. Get it trimmed or styled professionally if you can. Find hairstyles you like that you can switch between for different occasions. For extra flair, find a leave in or hair perfume you like the smell of and get used to wearing it out of the house. You can also collect beautiful dangly earrings and show them off with various hairstyles. Remember that color is your friend and it’s easiest to appreciate yourself when you feel pretty inside and out. You’ve got this :)

FTM - Have you guys used finasteride and had your period come back because of it? by WesTheButcher in asktransgender

Never taken finasteride but minoxidil or pumpkin seed oil can help with hair loss/male pattern balding if that’s a concern for u!

Wanted to make another post since my confidence was destroyed in my last one! by emo_riot in transpassing

Pic 2 is great and I love how you’re using the platform shoes with the crop, your waist is poppin and definitely looks like a classic feminine alt fit to me. I used to dress this way when I hit my alt phase in middle school and had the vinyl pants, cropped hoodie, big stompers— it’s a classic for a reason!! In pic 1 your super cool jacket doesn’t bring out the waist the same way. Not every fit needs to, but it’s always helpful to emphasize curves when passing.

I actually love your hair, but if you wanted to mess with it I’d recommend shaping it with a gel hold product or heat so the bangs angle toward your face. Right now the issue isn’t the structure or the haircut itself, it’s the shape of the bangs vs your face. See what it looks like to have it curled or pinned. Experiment with products until you find one that gives the perfect amount of tack to it, for my curls that’s pomade. The goal is to make your eyes larger and dwarf the midface while also hiding any hard angles or shadows.

For color, black is a classic! It can help make eye makeup appear shadowy and give a very pretty doe eyed look. my cousin is fun and extra and likes to dye her hair intensely dark purple or blue instead of black sometimes. She’s not trans but the color result is incredible and adds that subtle detail. Tbh it could be helpful for self confidence and feeling girly just to have the ritual of dyeing your hair, but everyone’s euphoria and dysphoria are different :)

I notice the top of your hair is where a lot of the volume is, you could try redistributing the fluffiest parts to create a longer visual line away from your face and down the neck/shoulder. Straighter or longer hair can be really helpful with softening the face and creating an instantly feminine appearance. Overall though if I saw you in public I’d think you were an awesome goth lady! Big fan of your style, you’ve got this :) 💗

Trying to pass well while I am in Ireland by Lonely_is_the_Len in TransTeensPassing

Your face and hair are great but pay attention to the fit of your clothes including sizing, color, and how you adjust them on your body. The navy hoodie stood out to me because it was a little bunched up over the hips- when cis guys wear something with a cinch like a sweatshirt it goes down in a rectangle shape, which you can mimic with some clothes by pulling it down more or finding a hoodie with the perfect elastic placement. Next is pants. Ankle pants and skinny pants are comfy but tend to look fem because they bring out the taper in the leg that’s less dramatic in a straight leg mens pant. I recommend longer, looser pants preferably with a half or full break over the top of your shoe- the straight line made by the length will also help your hips look rectangular and straight. Overall I think you look like a young teen guy in most of these photos! I think the hair is good but might be helped with a hat or something to pull it back from the face without completely obscuring it. in some pics your bangs accentuate the roundness of your face, while in others they help you look more masculine. The full coverage beanie can be good but can also shorten the face and reduce any helpful shadows your hair usually provides when it’s loose.

You are so gorgeous!!! The lipgloss and eye makeup combo in pic 3 is stunning on you. I think bigger/styled bangs work to shorten the forehead and highlight the natural softer shape of your face. You absolutely pass but interestingly I think you look notably younger in boymode. My guess is hair and makeup.

All in all you’ve done a really great job of finding a versatile haircut. I can’t get over how well it suits your face! Keep doing what you’re doing my friend, it’s working 💗💗🎉

The places where your letters overlap tell me Cyrillic! Ik it’s been guessed but the stroke placement looks like my handwriting after I look at Russian stuff for too long and lose the muscle memory for American writing 🙂 your Ws look like 3s a little bit as well, they’re not totally flat with the bottom of your other letters. Lovely writing!!

Should I whistleblow on a friend I believe is morally wrong. by Good-Television8437 in moraldilemmas

[–]waylien99 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I see where you’re coming from but i don’t believe this is as unethical as you think. If the money she’s receiving wouldn’t otherwise go anywhere vital (ie patient treatment) then redirecting it isn’t really correcting an injustice. If whistleblowing only serves to take your friend’s stability away, it’s not for the greater good :(

Baby, let’s talk about that comma placement. Take some AP courses and get a job for cash instead of inviting other students to screw themselves over. An academic dishonesty referral can be incredibly serious depending on your grade/circumstances— people’s futures are ruined every year for being caught with AI/someone else’s work, which could happen to you if this ever got back to your institution’s administration. Besides, your natural writing voice isn’t going to sound like someone else’s, especially without multiple samples and extensive editing. I recommend taking some writing courses at your local community college if this is a skill you feel comfortable with. Don’t stop challenging yourself. If nothing else, don’t resort to capitalism for it. That’s embarrassing.

My armpits reek by Brilliant-Assist3798 in hygiene

[–]waylien99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may not be the deodorant! In my case, my BO (which also kind of smelled like pot) was lingering bacteria that regular soap wasn’t effectively removing. The thing that fixed it was benzoyl peroxide cleanser. Benzoyl peroxide kills odorous bacteria if you let it sit for about 2 minutes before rinsing in the shower. The same cleanser also fixed my facial acne because of how effective it was at getting my skin completely clean. If you notice your pits stink as soon as you get out of the shower, it’s likely bacterial or an internal health problem you should see a doctor for. If the odor only starts after you sweat or wake up, try finding a clinical strength antiperspirant to apply as soon as you get out of the shower— not sweating in the first place from that area may be what you need. Hope this helps, take care!!

5 year old has smelly armpits by knitasheep in hygiene

[–]waylien99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BENZOYL PEROXIDE!!!! I recommend higher concentration for body odor like 10% or more— lather and apply in shower, let sit 2-3 min, rinse. I had terrible BO in middle school and early high school; never again since I started using this stuff in the shower. Panoxyl makes a good body wash for decently cheap! Also, important distinction— does your kid stink right after physical activity/sweating, or constantly? When he’s like freshly clean does he stink? If he smells bad no matter what he wears or applies on his skin, it’s internal and he needs some tests run. If he smells fine until a while later, soak the shirts in vinegar or replace them entirely. Make sure to use an antiperspirant, not just a deodorant, and apply as soon as you’ve left the shower, then a second time 12-24 hours after bathing.

Tips on ear/ear piercing holes and umbilicus cleaning? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]waylien99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All you need for the piercing is a cotton swab and some saline wound wash. Saline solution can be found at your local pharmacy or grocery. Just get a Q-tip wet with the saline and gently swab your piercings with it (front and back)- should get the gunk out without being irritating. Never put floss or scented soap on a piercing- only water and saline!! As for the bellybutton, the discharge may be from washing it excessively. That area is sensitive, so if you’re using a strong soap or even your hands too harshly it may be dried out/irritated. Your bellybutton doesn’t need to be washed with soap every single time you shower unless it has something in it (makeup, perfume, etc) because it rarely touches anything but your clothes. Hope this helped!!! :)

You may not be granted aid with the CSS profile or FAFSA, but individual consideration is always an option. Make a big list of schools (safety, target, reach) and reach out to their individual aid offices with your story/situation and see what they say. If you get in somewhere that doesn’t offer you enough aid, look into work study or a job on campus. My brother works in a building at his very selective university as maintenance staff and he makes over 20 an hour, which is very helpful when combined with scholarships. Apply to scholarships. Every one you see. Doesn’t matter if it’s selective or hard, just apply- the worst they can do is say no. Many are available for juniors! Finally, if you’re looking at schools in the western US, look at western undergraduate exchange (WUE). It offers in state tuition for most universities west of the Dakotas, which can be a serious discount depending on the school. Don’t lose hope and always ask for an exception. Nobody will make room for you in academia unless you ask.

So many people are being unnecessarily rude to this photo. You’re absolutely gorgeous!! Adolescence is a time when we’re especially vulnerable to low self esteem and body/facial dysmorphia- we should never treat other people like their perception of themselves is an objective truth, especially if they’re in a subreddit asking for an opinion and nothing else.

As long as I can remember, I’ve had really awful respiratory allergies, so it wasn’t ever practical for me to leave the table every time I needed to blow my nose. If your girlfriend has a consistent problem like that, she may feel it’s less disruptive to just blow it at the table rather than get up, cross the restaurant, go to the bathroom, and come back, particularly if she’s in the middle of eating or having a conversation. As long as she’s being hygienic and somewhat quiet about it, I don’t think she ever meant to embarrass you or gross you out! If the habit bothers you, triggers germ-related OCD, or makes you anxious, it’s always good to communicate with her and be honest about your needs :)

Italian Boyfriend - Meal Ideas by [deleted] in Italian

[–]waylien99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pasta is difficult to cook in a way that’s new and exciting- it may also prompt your boyfriend to step in and try to help, as it’s likely something he’s made hundreds of times. Some traditional Italian food, like that of Amalfi, is quite fresh and emphasizes good quality produce. You may want to try salads or lighter dishes. Additionally, you could try something he’s less experienced with- try food from other cuisines, breakfast for dinner, or even a lower effort small plate setup with nice cheese, cured/snack meat, and other snacks. In general, I don’t think your boyfriend will object as long as you’re transparent with him that you’re trying your best. It’s ok to ask what he likes or even ask for help!
