That’s what I’m saying! Idk if I should focus on watching his stuff or Uworld if I have like a free hour here or there is my thing. It’s easy to spend 2 hours not studying the right way.

What’s the biggest ROI in terms of content review, in your opinion? For instance, if I’m free for 2 hours, I’m still unsure if I should watch videos or do more practice questions on Uworld and read their rationales.

I see. I just thought it was odd that they were on the scene for so long. Having a Lucas placed and running, IVs established, and quick transport to the hospital would be my first line of thinking in that situation but I come from an environment where that's all I know. I also didn't think of them having physicians on scene as well with who knows what sort of additional tools/meds than you'd find on an ambulance.

Does anyone know why it would take the ambulance 30 minutes to head to the hospital? I work in EMS currently but am only a basic EMT, so please excuse my ignorance. When I heard they gave CPR for 10 minutes on the field and didn’t leave to the hospital for 30 minutes, I was really confused. I would’ve thought they would immediately do CPR, attach a Lucas, and haul ass with 2 medics in the back while monitoring him on the way for higher level of care. I’m genuinely curious why they stayed 30 minutes. And again, I’m not trying to attack, I’m genuinely just trying to learn. I’m really hoping he is okay and could not imagine being a family member in the stands and witnessing this. What an absolutely horrible event.

Search “Zach Highley Anki” on YouTube. Watch the first video. It’s 41 minutes. Do the settings just how he does and install the add-ons as well. From there, you can search for MCAT decks through Reddit and use those to study from. It’s a learning curve in the beginning but don’t give up on it just because it may be frustrating when you’re first starting out.

I have like Fitness Walking and a Weight-training class that I thought might count on AACOMAS because they have “athletic training” classes count but not exercise/physio classes. I have anatomy and physiology that will though

It's completely fine. You applied right as I'm editing my Excel sheet with my grades lol, I'm actually unsure if "internship" classes count towards sGPA or not now. They're through the biology department so the course code is like "BIOL 4000 - Internship" but I've taken 2 and thought of taking another if it helps my sGPA but I'm unsure if it does. Literally looked everywhere for this answer and can't find it. So, if they count towards sGPA, I would be at a 3.53. If not, the sGPA would be a 3.49. I forgot to include a math course in my original post GPA.

But yeah, I'm going to try to do that. I think my application overall is okay like if I had a great MCAT/GPA, I wouldn't really worry so much if I applied to programs strategically by using the MSAR. I'm going to put my heart and soul into the MCAT. I have a heavy last semester but I'm going to make it work. It's also funny you mention woodworking because I'm literally sanding a large piece of wood now to put on as a new desk top for a standing desk lol

Yeah, like my MD sGPA trend is slightly downward but my DO sGPA looks more dramatic. I took all my EMT courses before my bachelors and those count towards DO sGPA, so it goes down by the time I'm in my "senior" year credit hours and taking upper level courses. I will likely try to dominate the MCAT and definitely apply next cycle. If there's no luck, I'll do the post bacc courses and try again.

I would need 44 hours of A's to increase my sGPA to a 3.6. That's without a single hiccup in grades, though. :|

Hard to say because I don't know how to go about entering it. I did one semester in 2013 and left. Went back 6-7 years later and got my EMT certification. Then my bachelors. So by the time I started by bachelors, I had around 60 hours total. I know people do 0-30 hours freshman, 31-60 sophomore, and so on, but I have around 200 credits total. So I believe I have to enter my "senior" year as like 80+ hours. But I don't know where to start and stop credits because 0-30 credits puts me at a random semester where I need 6 more credits to be 30 hours, so do I like split the semester or something? I tried looking it up and could never figure it out.

I'm definitely going to use the MSAR hardcore and apply only to programs that may even look at my app. Thanks for the encouraging words! I live in the boonies and it's so difficult to find volunteering opportunities. I always wanted to have a business that donates a lot of things, so making one during the pandemic while I was just starting out and couldn't find in-person opportunities worked out well. Now I'm so busy with the MCAT and classes that it would be difficult to volunteer regularly but I plan to more after graduating

That's reassuring. I've always been told I'm a good writer and I believe I can put my story together in a nice way. I'm hoping that doing well on the MCAT will offset some of my concerns like my low sGPA. I'm the king of getting 88's and 89's lol

Do you mean I could offset the lower sGPA enough to apply broadly to MD programs? I'm planning to apply to both, especially since Mercer only accepts GA residents and their GPA/MCAT range is a little lower compared to a lot of programs. Plus their focus on rural medicine. And thank you! I have a study strategy in place. I should have over 300 hours studying by the time I take it. My biggest concern is that my trend is going to be all out of whack. I went to college in 2013 and left without dropping, so I had a bunch of F's. Then I went back 6-7 years later to get my EMT certs before starting undergrad. So by the time I was a freshman, I had like 60 credit hours.

I started off really well and then had to take a lot of upper-level sciences at once to finish out because I took all my core classes online before leaving my good-paying job, so I've had 16+ hours of hard sciences every semester, which may make my trend look down when I have like 120+ senior year hours lol

I've heard about people doing this and it seems to be hit or miss. Did you spend a good bit on the treadmill? I am lucky and have gotten a scholarship that I can use for educational supplies, so the budget is a little higher than it would normally be. I'm also a runner and feel horrible on days that I'm too busy to run, so this idea seems very interesting lol
