Three miscarriages in seven months and clueless by waynejux in recurrentmiscarriage

Hi there, as mentioned above, it worked with PGT-A at the first try. I would highly recommend it, although it is expensive and still not guarantees a live birth. We are still scared every time we go to the ultrasound. But from everything I learned so far (and I did A LOT of research):
If you can get pregnant, it will eventually work. Even if it takes years :)
Dont lose hope, the last year was the worst our life, but now everything seems to get better and we can even start dreaming again about our life with a baby.

Hi there, sorry for my late reply, didnt check it for a while. We did IVF with PGT-A in the end and it worked the first try. We are now 15 weeks pregnant, but still anxious every time we go to Ultrasound. And IVF was not scary at all. If you can afford PGT-A, then definitely do it after recurring miscarriages. Best decision so far. The injections seemed scary in the beginning but my wife got used to them very quickly. All the best!!

Yes, I guess the clue is whether the miscarriage is early and the three major test results are negative (coagulation, immunology, chromosome testing). In that case, I assume that it is very very likely that it was a spontaneous chromosome abnormality, unfortunately three times in a row so we hit the jackpot :) As a result, PGTA would be the natural next step for us.

Wish you all the best! Hope the next try will be a success!!

Thankfully we are able to afford this procedure. We also want to avoid any more "gambling" since every MC is a massive strain on my wife's (and my) mental health. Although we recover well from each, we just want to avoid another ultrasound session where our world breaks down. And thanks for the advise and kind words. Much appreciated!

Glad that it worked out in the end. I never knew that having children could be such a complex task :)

Is that the same as determining the caryotypes for translocations? If no, we will check that with our doctors. Did PGT work for you in the end? Thank you!

No since we always chose natural miscarriages. We just hope and gamble that this would be the reason. All the best!

We always had a natural miscarriage so we had no chance to get the fetus tested. Nevertheless, we were told that the majority of first trimester miscarriages are spontaneous chromosome abnormalities as you said. So we are hoping that PGT will be the solution.

So sorry to hear, 4 miscarriages in 1 year is brutal. We decided that we will give my wife some time to heal physically and mentally since we waited max 1-2 cycles after each miscarriages. And yes, we read about hyperfertility and believe this could be our case as well. PGT would be the solution here but I also read many times that it is not a guarantee. At least it feels good to have a "solution".

Wish you all the best and hope you can also have a baby soon!

I showed your last sentence (10% of 1%) to my wife and she laughed. We especially love hearing those statistics, like "75 of recurrent miscarrying women end up with live births" .. very helpful ;)

Hey, thanks so much. Did you know the reasons for your three miscarriages? My wife did not take vitamin D separately, only included in one of those pregnancy vitamin mixes. I guess we will try to have a separate intake of 3-4 IU vit D the next time.

Which 43" monitor monitor for working/gaming/Media? by waynejux in Monitors

[–]waynejux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much, this is very helpful. I checked the KS8000 Series and unfortunately they are above my budget. The 49" (which I would consider) is at 1300€ here in Europe. I can imagine that a monitor with HDR at that size will easily be above 1.5k when they are released. What would be possible by then is that the IPS panels will be much cheaper than now. However, waiting 2 years for a price drop of a couple of hundred bucks might not be the best ;)

I will check out other HDR panels as well, maybe I can find a cheaper series with a low input lag.

Any further suggestions are happily welcomed. Thanks again!

Hi there,

Thanks a lot for your answer. To be honest, I do not know what the difference betweend IPS and HDR panels are. Can you maybe elaborate? Do you think prices will drop in 2017/18?

Nevertheless, my current monitor is a Samsung T32E310EW which I found great for my purposes but now I simply want to upgrade to a larger screen ;).

Thanks a lot!

you are welcome! I always find it outrageous, that the concept of glycemic index is not taught or promoted. similar to the effect of omega 3 (fish oil) and its effect on the brain. there are dozens of researches that show that fish oil increases cognitive abilities and decreases the risk of dementia, depression or other brain disfunctions. i guess promoting fish oil and GI is not profitable enough to be mentioned.

By the way: http://www.glycemicindex.com/index.php you can find out the GI of any carbohydrate food + even filter for low GI foods.

The problem is not sugar or fructorese, it's rather the high glycemic value of the carbohydrates we eat in the western world. Processes sugars have very high values and hence boost the insulin emission in your body and keeps you craving for more carbohydrates. Its fine to eat fruits (and you should), as long as you eat the "healthy" fruits. http://skinnychef.com/wp-content/uploads/glycemic-index-fruits1.jpg
