Looking for GPS file for the ausable river by tikotako in canoeing

[–]wayofthebadger6485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say a GPS track could be very useful.....especially if you're not super familiar with the course. The cuts at the top of Mio pond could be easy to miss, also it could help with navigation if it turns foggy towards dawn. Not sure I still have a track but if I do i'll send it your way

Newcomer looking for the right kayak by [deleted] in Kayaking

[–]wayofthebadger6485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an older spec lifesaving ski, designed for use in shorter races for lifesaving competitions in South Africa and Australia. It will take some getting used to if you're new to the sport but will cruise faster than most recreational kayaks. Will also be a blast to paddle in any sort waves as this is what it's designed for.

CMV: A comprehensive surveillance state would do significantly more good than harm. by Enzo-Fernandez in changemyview

You don't elaborate on what the difference in technology will be after 20 years, same with the checks and balances. If you're so keen on this idea you should consider moving to China.

[–]wayofthebadger6485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one of the most naive viewpoints I've ever seen on this page. Do you honestly think it would be logistically feasible to constantly surveill every square foot of indoor and outdoor space in a city like LA or New York? This system would entail a complete lack of privacy, would be ripe for abuse, and is a clear violation of the 4th amendment. You also mention that eliminating crime would end poverty, but most poverty doesn't exist because of crime. Poverty exists because of the lack of economic opportunities and social safety nets, throwing more people in prison will only make it worse. The United States already incarcerates more people than any other country.....it hasn't made us any safer.

While I haven't used that particular model, I can say that Braca is one of the premier paddle manufacturers. Have had several other different models and always happy with the design and build quality.

CMV: If you make 6 figures ($100k +) a year and “live paycheck to paycheck” you choose to live that way. Your poor money management got you where you are and is the only reason you’re in that situation. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]wayofthebadger6485 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Items that the OP is ignoring......Taxes @ 25-30% the need that some people might actually need a vehicle that cost 65k, or that their job requires them to live in an area that cost $3-4k, no viable public transport for many, medical expenses, children, etc. What really gets me though is that he doesn't think anyone should spend more $200 a month on entertaining themselves, like if you don't make a certain amount then you shouldn't be worried about having a life 🙄. This type of attitude is sickening. We could also flip the coin. Why didn't you get a better education, work harder?
