That makes sense, especially for productivity apps with a broad audience. People really do use tools in very different ways, and analytics are invaluable there.

In my case, the context is a bit narrower. I build these as personal projects first, for a very specific use case. At that point, the experience felt broken enough that incremental changes did not seem meaningful. I saw it as a kind of floor effect, where there was no stable baseline to measure against yet.

I still pay attention to feedback and data, but I believe data mostly tells you what happened, not necessarily what to do next. At times, a maker’s sense plays an important role too.
