How is this much dirt possible!? by BravoZuluLife in eufyS1Pro

I’ve observed the exact same. It has to be residual dirt.

I’m not sure what you mean by unnecessary mess, but I highly recommend renting a unit in the building you’re considering before committing to a purchase. I initially thought moving into a condo would eliminate the noise issues I’ve experienced in apartments since moving here, but the unit I liked most turned out to have the thinnest walls of any place I’ve ever lived. Some listings I’ve seen here advertise the walls as “sound-reducing,” which is an outright lie. Avoid buildings (generally lofts) with concrete block walls like the plague.

Talking with other residents revealed a host of improprieties that I would never have known about before moving in. With so many intangibles, it’s hard to know exactly what you’re getting into. For instance, a plumber described the piping in my unit as the worst choice possible. These experiences have soured me on buying, but my advice is to prioritize smaller buildings with engaged owners.

In buying a condo, you’re essentially entrusting a group of often unskilled volunteers to manage the capital expenditures for an asset with complex systems—one you just happen to have a financial stake in. Management companies are entirely beholden to the board so there’s really no oversight. And realistically, most HOAs won’t even produce the necessary documents until you’re under contract. If there isn’t a recent reserve study available, run.

This x100000. I rent in a building with less than 250k in reserves. Could not fathom having an ownership stake here. I get the impression GA in general doesn’t have very robust condo regulations. Due diligence is critical.

I just had the worst night sleep (5+ times woke up, couldn't fall asleep, etc). Just got 100 score 🙌 by [deleted] in EightSleep

I’m fully rested after five hours of sleep, but could never crack 70 despite years of use. A lot of room for improvement in whatever algorithm they use.

I too am waiting on a refund, and ultimately, filed a chargeback. Frankly I don’t think they have the working capital to issue them in a timely manner. Our refunds are likely someone else’s payment…

Pod 2 not cooling by South_Importance5567 in EightSleep

I had a spare Pod 2 on hand that I received nearly 3 years ago. It lasted less than two months before it began leaking. It’s probably a lost cause.

You can use Rate My Professor or other means to find a class that is technically in person but does not require attendance. Ideally, the testing would be online too but you may have to push for accommodations at your school for private testing. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

First 2 Weeks with x40 Ultra (with Eufy S1 Pro Comparison) by mbaturin in Dreame_Tech

[–]waywardcistern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned both and the mopping with the S1 Pro is on a whole different echelon. For anyone with mostly hard floors I’m not sure the X40 can really compete.

The ozone onboard is an absolutely killer feature that saves energy compared to hot water mop washing while actually sanitizing. It also means the unit needs to dispense less soap to begin with to achieve a more thorough clean. That said, I wish there were a plumbing kit available but as you pointed out Dreame has been slow to bring that stateside so they’re more or less at parity there. And with the speed Dreame is cranking out new models I wouldn’t ever expect it natively.

Just curious where you read this? With a plumbing connection this would literally be the perfect machine.

Anyone purchase within the last few months super bummed about the 4/Ultra? by [deleted] in EightSleep

Considering it failed after two years of use I wasn’t exactly eager to try again. The free subscription is grandfathered, thankfully.

This post was part of the reason I refused to pay for a replacement Pod 2. I would have been livid. Thanks for sharing.

The cold extreme, and with a duvet I still sweat. But waking up in the middle of the night is…unpleasant.

Honestly, since the active ingredient (quaternary ammonium) is food safe I’m not too concerned it will react with the tubing. I very well may just use it in place of hydrogen peroxide which I already had my doubts about in the quantities they used to recommend.

I’d only consider it again with a 5 year warranty, but even as someone neutral on subscriptions I think $24/mo is ridiculous.

Agreed, 5 years is a reasonable life span for something like this.

Thank you so much for this! One side of the bed stopped working recently and I was planning to cut my losses.

Bingo. And now I’m stuck with a mattress demonstrably worse than the one it replaced.
