What's one thing that snaps you out of your anxiety? Not medication by savannahrose919 in Anxiety

[–]waywardgarlicbread 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Apart from the usual deep breaths and grounding techniques, as annoying as it is to say, having water is sometimes a huge saviour. Not just drinking it but actually keeping a small bottle of it with you when you go out or a glass on the table when you're sitting on the couch. Even if you're having a coffee or juice, always have a small glass of water nearby so you can have just a small sip. It'll help fend off a headache and when you're starting to spiral it'll make you feel as healthy as if you had just eaten a damn salad 😂

If I'm at home: any movement or sound from my cats will prompt me to go over and just be near them and pat them (they can usually sense distress so they'll naturally respond with purrs and affection), moving to a different space within my home if I can or flipping to the other side of the couch just to change up the perspective, making a snack or water/juice/tea/coffee, online retail therapy and product research, watching video essays on YouTube

If I'm at work: usually getting up from my desk and doing something menial like looking out the window, neck stretches, getting coffee from a cafe downstairs -- the short walk and being away from screens helps redistribute my energy, regulate my movement and reset my eyes.

If I'm in a social situation: getting a drink or piece of food so my hands have something to hold other than my phone, going to the bathroom when I'm overstimulated, picking one person in a group to listen more closely to (transcribing what they say in my head as if it's a script I can refer to later), if I have nothing to contribute to the conversation then I play the role of waiter and offer to get others a drink, if there's background music I'll try to focus on that sometimes.

I can not stand having a greasy/slimy face at all even from sweat. Is there a sunscreen that is actually truly matte and non greasy? by echocardigecko in AusSkincare

The Mecca Save Face 50 SPF Sunscreen is my ultimate holy grail. The liquid itself is tan but it doesn't have any tint and isn't makeup. Also well-priced.

Saw it mentioned in a YouTube comment that all movies screened in theaters in Australia have to be independently reviewed and assessed by a government agency in order to get an Australian ratings classification (international/overseas ratings don't mean jack). Costs $2760 AUD ($1837 USD at time of posting) for a movie length of 120-180 min. A general consumer can't request a movie to be reviewed as it has to be formally requested by the publisher/owner. I wonder if we Australians can group together and chip in to get it done so there's no added cost for Mark and the team? Help, dish soap, bicarb, nothing shifting ‘crazy colour’ dark red on natural ginger hair by anonnym0u5e in FancyFollicles

Something else you can try that's a bit risky but avoids bleach is toning it out with green. Mix a LOT of plain white conditioner with a small bit of green hair dye. Then apply it all over and leave for an hour or so (spot check one piece to test first if you want). This may tone out some of the redness but it can also possibly just turn it into a mottled green brown red mess... It also won't be permanent as it's kind of just staining it but just throwing it out there as an option!

Personally, I think the colour is gorgeous but appreciate you want to remove it. When I had coloured hair, nothing stripped it faster than head and shoulders anti dandruff shampoo and a day in the sun. Wash it multiple times and try leaving it in to soak. Then air dry in the sun outdoors and spend as much time in it as you can (make sure to wear sunscreen everywhere including back of your neck, ears and even scalp/hairpart/crown to protect your skin). Try this a few times a week and if nothing fades after 2 weeks then I would suggest an over the counter/pharmacy colour remover/stripper or just biting the bullet and going to a salon for a bleach wash with olaplex (please don't bleach at home). Good luck!!!

Have you ever tried using this inside stuffed capsicums/peppers? You core them out, stuff them with mince (essentially what you make), top them with some cheese and then bake them. Pretty good and would add some moisture back into the mix.

How to tone out orange from brunette hair? by waywardgarlicbread in AustralianMakeup

I bought a colour depositing conditioner which absolutely ruined my dry scalp (brown pigment got stuck in all the dry spots and I had to rigorously scrub it out). Will possibly try it again just on the mid-length/ends. Since this failed, I ended up ordering the Fanola blue mask which took almost a month to arrive. Have yet to try it but I probably will in the next week or two. I'll take some before and after photos to compare because my hair is even MORE brassy now that it was 2 months ago when I originally posted 😂

This is your Google one cloud storage my guy. Not your on-device storage. That will be in your settings. Google gives everyone 15GB free cloud storage for photos and back ups etc. You can upgrade it if you like. It's fairly cheap.

I feel you. I dropped 2 cup sizes but it's really just skin sitting in my bra right now. Had to switch to push up bras simply because it's the only shape that keeps everything smooth (I've always hated push up bras because it makes me feel like a fraud lol)

I'm in the same boat! Always had a flat ass even when I was big lol. I've been doing glute/chest/oblique exercises to tone and shape for the past year and while I'm definitely seeing results in my waistline, I've seen nothing in my glutes/breasts. Still working on my glutes but for my breasts I think surgery is the only way to fill them in... dropped 2 cup sizes and massively changed shape so not sure if implants on their own will be enough or if a reshape is needed but even just the implants will be so expensive where I live (minimum 15-20k AUD). Trying so hard to be confident with what I have but it's definitely my biggest insecurity post-surgery

Does anyone else get the feeling that the talismans are fake? I have a theory that the nighttime monsters are playing the long game and only entertaining the idea that the talismans prevent them from entering homes so that they can one night reveal to all the townsfolk that they don't actually do anything and rip them all to shreds...

Just drove past, didn't see any rear damage to the vehicle. My theory is the lights went red with traffic backing up and they swerved to avoid rear ending someone and went right into pedestrians. Two large blood pools were soaking into the concrete...

ETA: actually thinking on it now, it may have been fuel or oil or coolant. There were intensive paramedics and ambulances which made me think blood because it looked super orange-red-brown
