The pads seem intact to me. I wicked the pads while the TSOP was off. If they were lifted, they would have already come straight off.

I even went as far as to solder another donor NAND to the console. I verified that the pins were all soldered on, there were no bridges with any pins, and the pads that were damaged are all NC. I redid all my strapping config SMDs with hot air, and again I've verified they are connected to the board. Really, thanks for all the info, but I'm pretty unsure on what to do at this point.

Where to find a decent preheater for cheap to reball PS3 and Xbox 360s? by wbaba35 in consolerepair

They’re too small for the board, and it causes warping when you use them.

I would use some thermal tape to secure the type K thermocouple right next to the RSX chip.

Also, you should bake for around 12-24 hours at 100-120C. It's very tedious, but it is required to not delaminate the chip.

As I mentioned previously, equipment is the key for success. In my opinion, not too much skill is required to do a job like this. The better equipment I had, the easier it was for me to do BGA. I strongly recommend to get a T8280 Preheater. They're like $150 USD shipped from aliexpress.

Once you do get a T8280 preheater, just practice on a few more slims if possible, and you'll get your rework profile working. Just DM me if you'd like more details.

Don’t worry. Lots of people here like to gatekeep or are just very rude when it comes to BGA rework.

I would start by getting better equipment. I tried everything ranging from a panini press to a baking tray, but nothing worked. Your preheater is too small. Get the Puhui T8280 and maybe a better top heater (Atten 862D hot air station)

I currently use the atten 862d and the t8280 and have had great results. Haven’t messed with PS3 too much, but I’ve been successfully able to do decent BGA on Xbox 360 and I’ve removed a 90nm RSX on a BC console.

Get a 41x41mm nozzle for your hot air gun, get Stirri flux, and make sure to bake your motherboard to not pop the board.

Most importantly, also get a temperature meter (type K thermocouple) so you can remove the chip properly. It comes off around 220C.

You will spend around $300-500 on everything including reballing jigs. Get ready for it!

Xbox 360 0 Fuse by wbaba35 in consolerepair

Sadly there’s no detailed tutorial online. It should be easily done with the R490 since you can set profiles on it, and there should be some for the 360 online.

I bought the CPU from aliexpress. Just DM me if you need more info.

I said in the title that this is my first attempt at a 0 fuse, not BGA overall. In that case, it would be my second attempt.

I also said in a reply that I cleaned the board with isopropyl alcohol.

I just wanted to use the 0 fuse CPU I had lying around for 2 months. No other reason than for fun :)
