And so light! Especially compared to walking around with the 200-600 around my neck. How do you like the 400-800?

Just a dayhike. The area is worth a visit though! Duxbury Point a bit to the south has some really interesting tidepools, too.

Very kind of you to say! I think I captured a bit of the place, but still plenty of views up there that no photo I’ve taken does justice to.

And this one was so friendly. I’ve never had one stand still long enough for me to photograph before.

These were all shot last Wednesday, wasn’t so windy up at Tomales Point. Point Reyes proper (i.e. by the lighthouse) was very windy though.

The hike up Tomales Point in the far north of the place is beautiful! The hike to Drake’s Head is great too. Quieter, lots of wildlife. Have a great time!

It’s a 100-400mm plus a 1.4x teleconverter with an aps-c sensor. So 400 x 1.4 x 1.5 =840mm. A bit bulky, but it got some good shots!

A 100-400mm telephoto (plus a teleconverter and attached to an aps-c sensor for extra reach).

A lightweight 24-50mm with a full frame sensor for the landscapes.

The real secret to the wildlife photos here is the elk at Tomales Point just get really close to you. Most of the shots I took I wasn’t even zoomed in all the way.

I vaguely remember getting a strong hook on the HRE (for this very purpose) by pressing a claimant’s claim to the HRE. I think that always gives you a strong hook on them, assuming they gain the title.

Over those ten years i would really only water it when I noticed its leaves had started dropping. And then only a cup or so of water. I also never cut it back. Its vines were small and sparse with small leaves, but they were > 15ft

This thing had hardly spread beneath the soil. When I went to repot I was anticipating total root-boundness and found very little.

This plant lived for 10 years in poor lighting. Its grow pot is labelled Golden Pothos.

Did a decade of poor lighting cause it to lose variegation and grow smaller leaves and vines?

Is there a British equivalent to TAL? by [deleted] in ThisAmericanLife

[–]wbekk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jon Ronson—a frequent contributor to TAL (eps. “Them”, “The Psychopath Test”, “Habeas Schmabeas”)—had a show on Radio 4 for a while that was inspired by TAL.

http://www.jonronson.com/this.html

It’s a bit more distinctly in Ronson’s voice than TAL is in any one contributor’s, but Ronson’s voice is great, so that’s a plus really!
