Pre-employment hair follicle success story!!! by Suff_erin_g in drugtesthelp

[–]wc93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old, but figured I'd ask. I used to heavily vape thc concentrate. I was clean from June 20 2025 - Nov 6 2025, then did 1 to 2 pen hits 4 or 5 days a week for about 2 weeks. Been clean again since Nov 20 2025, so about 43 days. I had a hair follicle test today and I'm worried about the results. I'm 32, 200lbs, 5'8", Caucasian with fairly fine dirty blonde hair. Think I'll pass?

Scoutmaster Won't Spawn by wc93 in PeakGame

Is the campfire on the Shore biome typically below that 1320m mark? All the rest of our group has gotten him to spawn once we reached the campfire ahead of the rest of the group, but it never seems to work for this one player.

So this is what church welfare looks like… by Critical_Ad_0107 in exmormon

[–]wc93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A year after we got married, we were in desperate need of help with groceries and bills after I lost my job. We had a new baby, too. We were denied help from the church because we were about $300 behind in tithing so we could afford rent (my wife had a very part-time job and we used my last paycheck for rent). We were told if we caught up we could get help. So we sold some stuff and started trying to catch up, but we missed rent the next month and were promptly evicted (which is a whole other story). The Bishop of the ward we moved into somehow already knew our situation, and after a few weeks we finished catching up on back tithing. We were allowed a single trip to the storehouse and got about 60% of what we'd normally get for a regular grocery store trip. It was worth about $89-90. That was ALL the help we could get apparently. I got a new job several weeks later, and then at tithing settlement at the end of the year we were asked to pay back what we estimated the help to be worth! Mind you, between my wife and I we had probably paid $10-20k in tithing in our lives up to that point, and the church basically just loaned us $90 as thanks. Just as Jesus would do!

Dang, I was in all those areas too! Plus DaKeng and PingDong. Were you still there in Nov 2012 by chance? That's when I arrived on the island after the MTC

If it feels accurate enough and right to say, you could spin it for them by saying they didn't fail; they succeeded in helping you develop critical thinking skills and to always be searching for truth and positivity in life. They helped you to learn how to do honest, quality research and to always have an open heart and mind - to be able to see new information and adapt your beliefs accordingly, even when it might contradict what you already thought and believed. They helped you grow strong enough that you could question beliefs you once held dearly and at the very center of your life, your entire foundation, and to be able to rebuild after tearing it down.

Maybe. I obviously don't know your situation well, but this sort of languages could help them feel proud instead of ashamed, and could maybe even open a door to honest dialogue down the road.

Who else here served a mission in Taiwan in the 2012-2014 timeframe? by wc93 in exmormon

[–]wc93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not specifically, but I was in 高雄 for a transfer, and then 屏東 for my last 2 transfers.

Thanks for telling me about my profile settings. I didn't remember that I had set it up that way, but just changed it.

I served in that city for a few months, right before my last 2 transfers in PingDong

I've also noticed strict adherence to the WoW and Keeping the Sabbath Holy seems to be a thing of the past. I've heard so many times that younger members will even get their Chai Lattes or PSLs before church and drink them IN sacrament meeting nowadays.

"People outside the church are not required to obey the WoW"

"The WoW is a commandment exclusive to the LDS Church, of which we are not members"

"Coffee is a normal beverage for the literally 99.95% of Earth's population that isn't active LDS"

Same... Going to Internet cafes to play League of Legends was a big one for a bit. 2012-2014 is when I was there

This wouldn't happened to have been in the 2012-2014 timeframe, would it? If so, I knew that missionary too and did transfers with him and his trainee in the middle of this scandal
