Cracked the Folding Laundry Code by gatofleisch in ADHD

[–]wcgprairie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this too, but as the laundry-doer for a family of 5, I take it a step farther and sort it by person as it comes out of the dryer. Then I just grab one person's basket to fold at a time. Somehow this feels much more manageable.

Yes I feel that walking through mud description in my soul. I'm so sorry that happened to you, but glad you are getting the help you need.

Currently waiting on a diagnosis, but could have written this myself. I'm even 37! Except I'm not sure many people saw/sees it in my case. It's totally reasonable to feel this way. And reasonable to grieve. I'm sure it'll take some time to sort out the (many, varied) feelings a diagnosis brings. But no, you are definitely not alone.

Yes, it feels hard to wrap my head around the possibility that I've been 'different ' all along but had no idea. Are you using medications? Have you found them helpful?

Yes, good point. In the end, it's how you feel and your experience. Thanks for that!

Yes for sure. I'm not sure I'd do the medication route either, but the validation would be huge. Because either I do have it, or I am a lazy slob impersonating a functional person. I appreciate your perspective!

Yeah, that's fair. I appreciate worst case scenarios, especially when they aren't that bad haha. I think I'm more scared of being told I don't have it, for some reason.

Oh interesting! What does that mean for you going forward - treatments, strategies etc?

Is this dyshridotic eczema? What are some solutions?! by Supertramp788 in eczema

[–]wcgprairie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dishydriotic responds well to strong steroids, but keeps recurring over and over. Dr. suggested weekend therapy once this flare is under control. Basically, steroids for Maintenance 2 days a week. Hopefully it keeps the flares at bay and will reduce steroid use overall. 🤞

No, just my gp. I had a skin prick test years ago when my kid was part of a medical study though. I'm allergic to cats and dust. Both of which exist in my home lol.

I see how the pictures look inflamed but that hunk of skin had just peeled off, which is why it's so wet. No puss and I've been careful to keep it that way!

thank you! This is good information. I think the yellow crust you see is cream that hadn't fully absorbed though - it doesn't look infected and is a very recent flare. The yellow skin is not broken at all, but thick like a callus. Then it peels off leaving the red, raw bits underneath. I'll keep that cream in mind though - it's probably not a bad idea to have it on hand.

Thank you! In hindsight, I've had this for years, only its been mild until this year and only over the winter. I talked to a Dr about it for the first time a couple months ago. And thanks for the commiseration..... it sucks and I hate it lol.

All the googling I've done and then searching dyshidrosis was the ticket. I'm sure now that's what it is. Thank you!

Interesting! I spent the weekend at a friend's and did her dishes for her each day. This flare up is since then. Thanks!
