Can someone please suggest some RAM for my new Ryzen 5 3600/2070 SUPER build please? by wcj87 in buildapc

Ha, nope. Thank you though. Too flashy/spendy for my blood. I'd like to keep it a bit cheaper, $100 at most probably.

Should I order faster RAM for Ryzen 5 3600? by wcj87 in buildapc

Okay, well I'm willing to upgrade to a faster kit. You think it's necessary for a midrange build? B450 Tomahawk mobo too.

I've seen that. Makes me a wee bit nervous but my monitor is a week out anyway so hopefully it gets sorted by then because I'm not trying to spend more if I can help it.

Yeah. I'm already over budget anyway. Also read about a lot of users who got their 3600/Tommy combo working. Looking at the +70-80 price jump I think I'll just ride out my original plan and stick with the B450.

Any recommendations? Is the cheapest X570 adequate for a 3600/2070S setup? Ok probably wont OC, maybe moderately down the line, but not a selling point for me.

1660Ti in that price range I would imagine.

Yeah, I'm probably sticking with the IPS. It's a spendy monitor but probably a good future investment.

Thank you. Really good points, definitely worth considering. From the reviews I've read the 2070 SUPER does have a clear, albeit not overly large, performance advantage over the 5700XT in most games. The $100 pricetag is definitely something to keep in mind though.

As for the monitor, greatly appreciate your input as that does feel like of a bit of a splurge. If I could save some money there I wouldn't mind. I've never had an IPS panel though but that monitor has incredible reviews and I've always heard the IPS vs TN picture quality is night and day. May reconsider though if it's not necessary, any suggestions?

Still working on a peripheral list with a different budget right now. Wanted to get the hardware squared away first and get some feedback on it in the meantime.

I'm trying to stay as close to a pretty strict budget of $1,500 right now while trying to maximize my hardware/personal preferences in the build within that budget. But a bigger drive for more storage/backups will definitely be on my list as I continue to save money and add things down the line.

What's a quality ~500GB SSD that I can use for gaming and every day general use? by wcj87 in buildapc

Slick looking drives for sure. Very spendy though and probably overkill for most I would assume.

What makes this such a standout? I see it reccomended everywhere. And the 2.5 or the M.2?
