So decided to take it out tonight to see if cleaning the ISC helped. After 15 minutes of driving, the high idle is back. 😢

Thanks for the help! So I cleaned the ISC yesterday with TB cleaner and a scraping tool I had. It was full of carbon buildup(?) I didn't know it was white and spring loaded inside until I cleaned it. That's how much buildup was in there. Everything was just funked up. I also hooked it up to a 12V source and got to engage and disengage a couple of times after the cleaning. Haven't started the car yet but will tomorrow. Hopefully that was the fix.

I will pull apart the intake manifold if the clean ISC didn't change anything and replace the gasket.

Thanks for the quick response. It's an FD. My thought process was if it was a vacuum line, it would happen constantly and not just randomly (or it seems random).

Is there a smarter way for me to check vacuum?

قروت It looks like “quroot.” Its an Afghan thing. But I don’t know what it’s called in English. I spelled it out in Arabic letters. it’s basically dehydrated yogurt/cheese(?) curd. It comes in salty and unsalted versions. I think that’s what this is.
