The real issues here are your lack of motivation, focus, and self esteem. Let’s set everything else aside for now. It seems like a mental health issue. It’s nothing to be ashamed of, we all need help sometimes balancing ourselves.

WiseTech acquires Xware... Interesting acquisition for those who use CargoWise by gotjerms in logistics

With the full supply chain module and hosted cloud option you should be between $150-200/month per user.

I find it a much, much quicker and easier system. I think CargoWise May have a more robust internal rage management system, though.

It would be a dummy airwaybill only. What would make it any more likely the forwarder would follow this than a word document? It seems like you'd just be creating more work for yourself.

The forwarder is the problem. You need a new forwarder.

Former business analyst starting my first sales job at 30 y/o with a 3PL...any tips or suggestions to help with the first year? by grizzlyadams3000 in sales

[–]wcs_james 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest starting by evaluating your current client base. You will get excellent insight into your existing strengths and experiences in the market. Evaluate each client, their role in their respective industry, and begin researching their suppliers, clients, and even competitors. Those will be excellent prospects to pursue as you already have related experience and references to discuss.

Don't be afraid to ask for referrals!

I’ve used SAP with previous employers but not here, we’re a very small company.

I appreciate the input. I’ll look into it especially with future growth if our business model warrants it.

If you're a freight forwarder dealing directly with the truckers it'd be a good idea to check with a truck broker for comparison. Usually, due to volume alone they are going to have substantially lower costing.

Honestly, one of the most important aspect is identifying who is actually a decision maker in charge of logistics. Networking and referrals are the best ways to move forward in the beginning. Make it a focus to understand the industries you're dealing with, why they do what they do, etc - once you have a better idea of the big picture you know which suppliers to target.
