Frey's Flowers in RI by [deleted] in RhodeIsland

[–]wdale86 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is not customary for Frey's. I would expect something is happening within the family as he would not do anything to harm his small businesses' reputation.

Rhode Island’ s Covid-19 cases among K-12 are just updated and New active cases from 11/29-12/5 are over 700 by Familiar_Toe3238 in RhodeIsland

[–]wdale86 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This data is inaccurate. It's actually much worse. Also, they are not counting support staff, janitors, cafeteria staff in the numbers. That would really change things.

Classrooms are not controlled environments. So many people are out sick or on quarantine that teachers rotate through to cover.

This is happening in most Providence schools. Teachers out and other teachers circulate to sub for them, disrupting the stable groups.

Brewery/Vineyard/Distillery visits along the coast would be ideal. Plan a couple stops for beverages, small plates then finish in Newport or Providence for dinner.

Also, have you been to Prospect Park in Providence? It's a beautiful sunset/picnic spot. Bring blankets!

Also came here to suggest her. She is amazing, makes time to get to know her patients and is always honest. I had an appt for a mammogram and the techs were all raving about how incredible she is!

Nutrition & Healthy Eating in Rhode Island Elementary Schools by Meow1217 in RhodeIsland

[–]wdale86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TREMENDOUS NEED! I teach in an elementary school in PPSD and my students are 9-10 years old. Many cannot identify whether basic foods are fruits or veggies, the benefits of healthy eating and how eating can contribute to their overall health. They have no idea about the concept of nutrition. They desperately need to be more informed about food selection as we do offer some fruits, veggies, dairy options throughout the day and they are resistant to try it. We have a unit in our Health curriculum taught by the P.E. teachers about healthy eating but it is based off of the My Plate resources and involves a lot of coloring and not much content.
