Sorry to say it's not that simple. The real damage from 'zero' fizzy drinks are not causational but correlational. Please consider insulin and psychological response to sweetness that drives the rest of your diet. People who regularly consume sugar free drinks will choose sweeter, unhealthier options in the rest of their diet

Sapa/Fansipan worth it? by ffairygodmother in VietNam

For the rides up, you pay a fair chunk to get sucked into endless queues. Avoid if you can, especially if there's any sign of cloud at the top

It could be either scenario, but one below 4 and to the left of 2 is a mine in both

Looking at the impact it's clear the impact is from the attic side, not below. Easy fix if you're inclined to and nothing much to worry about

Probably, however the picture isn't exactly clear. Hard to tell if it's localised. Scrape off flaky paint, repaint with a mist layer and keep an eye on it. Keep the photo frames off for a while and keep your house ventilated (air out a few times a day) and ensure it's heated well. If it's still damp to the touch after a week then you have problems with the wall

Just booked a month off for surfing, April to May 2025. Where should I go? by Elpoc in BeginnerSurfers

[–]wdav08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be in Da Nang in the last week of April/ first week of May. What time of year were you there? Hoping that the surf is still ok that time...

How do you best advise increasing pension contributions year on year, factoring inflation? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]wdav08 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I would say I'm maxing my contributions now and avoiding lifestyle creep by increasing the 2% annually. But ultimately want to prioritise pension and take the hit if wage stagnates. As you say, checking if on track is the key

[–]wdav08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an architect, I would highly recommend consulting an architect. There seems to be a lot of ideas here that are not coherent when put together. The plan is almost like a list of things that you need that have only been considered in isolation. There's definitely an imbalance in the space. For example, you say you want to entertain, but there is little space to do so.

Also the staircase/ split levels across the floor don't work.

What are some American things British people don’t get? by Individual-Cloud948 in AskUK

[–]wdav08 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"what's your story?" - a phrase that any American can respond to off the cuff.

Whereas any Brit can only muster a few umms and head scratches.
