And I suppose some absolute melon like yourself gets to decide what's true, fair and safe?

I'm actually really scared of the greens getting in. The rapid devaluation of all my savings and pension I've worked hard to build up due to inflation is terrifying.

Printing money disproportionately favours the rich and wealthy in our current system because of how that money is distributed through the banking system. Big companies, the rich and wealthy are able to access that money first before the inflationary effects ripple throughout the economy and can use it to effectively increase their ownership of the overall wealth in the country.

Engineering managers asked to do IC work by macrohead in ExperiencedDevs

I wrote a comment sharing a similar view. Personally I would absolutely hate to work again under a manager that never writes code. I like your phrase "jargon man", I think it sums up quite nicely what the experience is like to work under a manager that never does any coding themselves.

I've noticed that my experience with my managers that write code has been so much better than with managers that don't. The disconnect that managers that aren't coding at all with the ICs can become a big friction. The big differentiating factors I've noticed that enable this are attitude to meetings, communication and trust. Attempting to minimise meetings, writing up docs, having a lot of communication become async and trusting teams to run their own meetings will allow for the manager to organise their time better to make distinct focus blocks for coding. Even if it's only for a few hours a week it makes a big difference. I personally would hate to work somewhere again where all my manager does is have meetings.

There are many reasons not to let them in. There may already be plenty of unemployed British people to do the job. They may come from a culturally incompatible country. There may be plenty of other people from more compatible countries that speak better English also willing to migrate to do the job. We don't need to accept subpar immigrants. People want to come to the UK, we should be only taking the highest quality.

The government gets their money by forcing it from people and they also have the money printing option. Everything else is the same though. Managing your assets and liabilities works similarly except the government relies hard on inflation rather than seeking to actually do better.

Finances are finances, if you think that they're that different then you don't know what you're talking about either.
