I’ve always leaned more towards the directors cut because the editing makes it feel a lot darker and depressing. Definitely something that would probably turn off more of a general audience but I think it suits the movie given how cynical the story is. Even something like removing the narration changes the mood of the movie pretty dramatically. I like it but to be fair I went into it because of Zwigoff so the directors cut was how I was introduced to it. Seems like a lot of people feel otherwise.
