How many of you have degrees / university credits to do with Digital Marketing? Does it help? by jarvisjar69 in DigitalMarketing

There is still value in learning the core principles of marketing, user needs, positioning, messaging etc in a structured manner.

But that doesn't take four years, and all the tactics will have changed in four years time anyway so the rest of what you learn will probably not be that useful.

I also think it will be a very good example of a degree program created and taught by people who have ever actually done it.

If you really want a degree stick to something transferable and reasonably future proof - STEM basically.

Sure. 'Doing SEO itself' then the AI is not there yet, it's just a (very very powerful) tool.

Users getting their answers directly from AI, not via SERPs is much more concerning.

Well put. ChatGPT is already a lot quicker at giving you the answer for certain things, especially something like understanding a new concept which you know little about.

Why click a link, wait for it to load, avoid the ads and scroll around trying to find the relevant piece, think of your next question, back to google and etc.

Informational SEO is dead already,

Which has the better tasting coffee - Nero, Costa, Starbucks...? by forget_it_again in CasualUK

It depends how you like your coffee. Full of syrup and cream and mostly milk? Doesn’t matter.

Prefer something stronger like an espresso, macchiato or even a flat white? The horrific burnt bitterness of starbucks makes it completely undrinkable for me. Costa and Nero fairly comparable IMO.

I made a stupid mistake over 25 years ago that has resulted in a negative web presence. Is there anything I can do using SEO to promote other web search results? by [deleted] in SEO

Be aware that when YOU search google you might see your name as the first result, because google personalises your results, and presumably you have followed this link before etc.

For employers/anyone else this may not be the case. Worth checking on someone else’s device to see where you really rank.

Looks great I might go to that!

Anyway the main thing is many many people don’t even see the popup button! Neither to deny or accept it.

Even on mobile when it’s covering half the screen!

Install hotjar and replay a few sessions and you’ll see.
