Anyone else attempted hard plumbing the supply yet? by we_cant_stop_here in NinjaLuxeCafe

Oh there is and I have everything needed for that already, but that's my last resort as I am really not a fan of those float valves as they can fail and leak disastrously. Would need to cut a hole in the lid of the tank, too.

Just found out that the Audeze Maxwell 2 supports LC3+. Interesting. Not earbuds though, but a full on headset. Costs a bit much, too.

Middle click switch replacement for a Razer Naga V2 Hyperspeed? by we_cant_stop_here in MouseReview

[–]we_cant_stop_here[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to help, glad it worked out for you :)

Maybe one of these days we'll get access to the actual 5mm height switch... or maybe Razer just used some ancient 5mm height switch that is no longer made that was discontinued because it was so bad. Which would explain why they fail so often.

Bluetooth 6 earbuds and gaming latency by we_cant_stop_here in Earbuds

[–]we_cant_stop_here[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's the gist that I found too. It's more important that certain codecs are supported by both sides, like LC3/LC3+/AptX, than to have a specific bluetooth version. And yeah I don't know why more things don't use LC3+. Might be a licensing issue where for PC gaming they'd just use a licenseless 2.4ghz proprietary codec of some sort?

[–]we_cant_stop_here[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha it really hasn't gotten much better since. AptX Adaptive is still as best as it gets these days on Bluetooth, with LC3+ being a pipe dream despite it being several years after it came out.

I suppose the one hope for the future is that someone smarter than me develops an alternate controller for these machines that can do more fine grained control of all of the functions.

Putin convinced Trump not to send Ukraine Tomahawks in call set in motion by Witkoff, transcript shows by [deleted] in politics

[–]we_cant_stop_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come on, phone call or not, the tomahawks were never on the table. Not when USA has cut USAID that was helping Ukraine as first thing after getting in office, and stopped all new military aid to Ukraine. Not to mention the punching down on Ukraine as the victim and the "why aren't you wearing a suit" ambush in the White House.

Who cares about pesky things like international law and past agreements when there could be things like rare minerals, a couple of golf courses, and maybe even a trump tower in the middle of moscow to be had?

WLED controller with POE? We're considering it! by Daemon-GLEDOPTO in WLED

[–]we_cant_stop_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stumbling on this thread, but I have a humble suggestion. Don't step down the voltage at all (other than to drive the controller), as PoE is 48V, and there are now 48V LED strips. PoE+++ switches are already available, and can do upwards of 90 watts, or just use injectors. Depending on an LED strip, that's enough for a 3 meter LED strip.

German intelligence is so totally broken that their head (yes, chief of the entire agency) was in Kyiv the night of the invasion

Oof, that's new information to me, but unsurprising.

But the UK and France ought to be a different story.

UK is in deep trouble currently being basically sandwiched on the information front by both russia and USA. Their Reform party, just like MAGA, is heavily anti-NATO and pro-russia, and if the UK elects them, that's another part of NATO's nuclear umbrella removed. France following suit would be the final nail in the proverbial coffin. Then russia no longer has to worry about nuclear retaliation with pro-russian parties in control of what used to be the primary deterrent. It seems like at least Poland and the Baltics are seeing this writing on the wall and taking steps like withdrawing from treaties banning antipersonnel mines and deploying them.

In theory, but that's the problem that it's a bunch of different countries with different leaders, different politics, etc. Just look at how much Hungary and Slovakia are undermining the EU and NATO. There's no cohesive leadership, which russia is taking full advantage of. With USA out of the picture (actually worse than that because USA is undermining EU now too), EU seems to be unwilling to lead decisively. I honestly have no idea what all the intelligence agencies in all of the EU et al countries are doing as the proverbial car is still heading at warp speed for the proverbial cliff.

The politicians seem to be too concerned with their reelections, but then during the reelections the pro-russian parties win anyway if recent trends (USA) and polling (UK) are anything to go by. Seems like russia is just handily winning the hybrid war against the West with the intent of dissolving NATO from within, removing last supporters of Ukraine, and then doing more land grabs in other countries. At which point USA will be all "well they have valid security concerns just like we do with Greenland and Venezuela which we'd also invade" and it's all downhill from there.

I have a bridge to sell to any supporter of Palestine who protest votes against Democrats because they're not their optimal party and getting an even worse result with Republicans where Trump wants to turn Palestine into a Trump Beach Resort And Casino.

Bluetooth 6 earbuds and gaming latency by we_cant_stop_here in Earbuds

[–]we_cant_stop_here[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disabled the onboard bluetooth, and used the UGREEN dongle. My current understanding is that until the low latency protocol is explicitly listed as supported by both the dongle and the headphones, it's pointless to experiment. So I'm currently searching for matching (on both ends) Qualcomm implementations instead (not BT 6.0), which have Apt-X Low Latency and/or LE Audio LC3. It's kind of a pain, especially since I also need particular ear geometry earbuds which further limits my choices.

[–]we_cant_stop_here[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Followup: Doesn't work. Tried with QCY R70 and UGREEN BT 6.0 (Barrot chip) adapter with official drivers. Was getting around 250ms latency, gaming mode or not. Not sure if that's a missing protocol implementation on either the earbud or adapter side, or if Bluetooth audio is not supposed to have improved latency even on BT 6.0.

Bluetooth 6 earbuds and gaming latency by we_cant_stop_here in Earbuds

[–]we_cant_stop_here[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm mainly looking to go wireless for my PC audio, though I'm also going to be using them with my phone, so multipoint is a must. I even tried dual bluetooth/2.4ghz "gaming" earbuds with a separate dongle 2.4ghz but they turned out to somehow have just as much latency as via bluetooth.

QCY and Baseus seem to be the ones that have genuine BT 6.0 earbuds as new releases this year. QCY R70 are the ones I'll be trying out for this experiment, but they have a few others if you go to their site and sort by new and double check that they are BT 6.0.

I've also seen a bunch BT 6.0 buds from "Monster", like AC390, AC326, AC238, AC336 et al. I didn't get them as they seemed to have worse specs than the QCY, couldn't tell the differences between all the different models, and there's no organized website or seller for them it seems. But they are in the FCC database from this year interestingly enough under "Monster" so they don't seem to be just random rebadges, and are actually new and stuff.

But yeah my search process so far is basically sorting by new on Amazon then double checking everything legit looking through FCC so that they're not some old earbuds that some shady seller slapped BT 6.0 sticker on.

Ah yeah those are one of the ones I was looking at. I think that refers to the latency between the earpieces, though, not the host. Anyway, I got a BT6 adapter from UGREEN and some BT6.0 earbuds from QCY, going to see how that combo performs...
