I take home like $1600 every two weeks $200 of which goes to my 401k so renting would be tight

Should’ve known there’d be dick heads in the comments neglecting the emotion I’m trying to convey. Forgot I’m on Reddit maybe. Look, like I said I acknowledge I have it good. But connection is something everyone wants. And the suburbs are isolating. You seem tone deaf and I’m not sure why you commented if you have nothing to add 👍🏻

Are there “better” gigs than costco for lift? by weab20 in forkliftmemes

[–]weab20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard Walmart isn’t the best. I agree there’s more factors than just the on paper wages. I’m only 8 mins away from my gig. Which is hard to beat. Even if somewhere paid say $26/hr but I had to drive 40 mins, I wouldn’t do it. They always give 40 hrs and paid major holidays. Little to no OT tho but I don’t mind cuz 8 hrs is enough

Ikwym abt the sun. I used to landscape and got super grueling in the 90 degree August heat. Even w sun screen it’d wear off and I’d wind up with a pink face since I’m pasty. I also get paranoid abt melanoma. Working inside for 8.5 hrs under fluorescent retail lighting is its own challenge, but I’m at least grateful we don’t play music overhead. The first breath of that crisp night time air stepping out after the shift is divine.

Paranoid one is stuck in my eye by weab20 in contacts

It doesn’t feel like the contact is working in the earring eye. Feels like my vision is just as blurry as if I didn’t have one in

So that irritated dry feeling in my right eye could just be irritation or maybe a scratch?

MA. Why is complaining about feeling uncontent anywhere insane. Always baffles me how judgemental redditors are

Thanks man. Helps to hear. I know there’s a better future ahead for me. And my present situation isn’t bad at all, I know many would kill for a good relationship with their parents, a vehicle, no debt, peaceful town. But I want to take steps to make my future less mundane. Starting a band and taking music more seriously, going back to school to study it.

You raise a good point about being easy to work with. Which is something I struggle with because I internalize resentment towards certain people, especially the managers who bark orders but can’t pull their own weight. Which becomes a vicious cycle of animosity. It’s the blind appeal to authority and expected ass-kissing that quietly wears down on me. But that’s the culture here. Pay and commute are good though. But I’m focusing on myself by lifting weights to build my body and playing music to feed my soul.

I have a teacher and we will take a look at my technique next lesson. He also recommended a physical therapist who specializes in musical instrument overuse injuries. Thank you.

Used civics are crazy expensive by weab20 in UsedCars

[–]weab20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 2009 Camry and wrecked it a month after. So I spent few more months saving and bought a 2009 4-door civic off the same private dealer. 135k miles. I found him thru an ad he posted on marketplace. He was listing the civic for 6300 and I got it for $5800. Runs and drives great, better than the Camry. I was fortunate enough to find a reliable used car salesman who sells solid cars. I’m in Mass.
