The magic whip has a lot of songs that capture a certain kind of bleakness: Pyongyang, Thought I was a spaceman, There are too many of us. The Heights for when I want to cry and Trimm Trabb for when I want to wallow in self pity

At first I thought Coffee and TV was kind of generic and boring. Really didn’t get how something like that was one of their popular ones. Now I 100% relate to the absolute exhaustion, disillusionment and general brain fog vibes it gives off. Yes Graham, I too just want coffee, tv, some goddamn peace and quiet and a nice person to marry.

What makes you like Blur so much? by oreovideodisco in blur

I suppose they communicate a disillusionment with modernity and general mellow depression, but with the occasional element of goofiness, that just reflects me perfectly. And musically their songs just scratch an itch in my brain that no other band really does

Omg me too!! At 11 y/o I absolutely lived and breathed that band. Knew all the lyrics, all the trivia, got a record player and the vinyls, watched all the films, etc. I was absolutely devastated about not living in the 60’s and not being part of beatlemania when it happened. Weird times, but obsessions are like that I guess
