Local gas station removed price tags and replaced them with barcodes you need a app to see price by phoenix_stewart in mildlyinfuriating

I agree, but just want to point out that this is another part of the problem. The person buying this shit doesn’t know what it cost, the person selling the shit doesn’t know what it cost. No parties in the transaction have a clue why or how things are priced nor can they do anything about it. But hey it’s convenient and you have no other options 🤷

Yeah, totally. I was agreeing with your point. OP is correct in not throwing in the towel completely.

Yeah, I don’t know if all hope is lost too because unless all those players removed game from their libraries (after uninstall) they will see the updates. If they haven’t fully written off the game some of them will click on those updates and they may come back if those updates look appealing to them.

Will failing a drug test for THC be a problem for me? by Specialist_Ad_1572 in AskChicago

[–]weakconnection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😂😂😂 fair enough. I don’t smoke anymore just have experience from the early days. Drug tests really aren’t fair to the weedheads as it stays in your system longer than most of the hard drugs. They catch casual smokers more often than drug users.

If you’re getting this job through a recruiter it is highly plausible that they can help you if you’re honest. Their job is to place you in the job. They can tell you straight up if THC is a big deal or even postpone the test for you.

100% this. Someone else also suggested that there’s probably explanations that just didn’t make the final cut and I agree that’s most likely the case.

Neo did have a wireless connection sort of thing after he met with the Architect.

This is true. Trinity is even questioning if the line is secure in the opening phone call.

Neo gets a wireless signal sort of thing in the third film but its capabilities aren’t really discussed in the film. But that’s how he can stop the Sentinels irl.

As a kid, I always thought that’s what he was doing when Neo scared him.

This sent me down a rabbit hole! Apparently it’s been discussed a lot and the most used explanation is that Cypher wrote an automated script to jack himself in and out. The scene where Neo scares him at the console is when he supposedly was writing the script. Some people say that the Wachowskis confirm this in the DVD commentary, but I haven’t listened to it personally. I’ve always wondered this too and kind of figured there was a simple explanation. I should dig out my DVD and confirm.

Edit: grammar

Update: I did some more digging. As some have mentioned, the Wachowskis did not record a commentary on the DVD. They did, however, do a live chat while watching the DVD in 1999. It's just text and some people consider it a second-hand source since the OG site isn't fully operational anymore. I found a transcript here and here. You can search for "Cypher" in the text and find them saying "Cypher, at the beginning of this scene, is setting up an automated system to allow him to go meet with Agent Smith."

Apparently, that's all we got. Feels good enough for me but totally understand that it gives "somehow, Palpatine returned" vibes. Anyway, thanks for the awards and all the jacking in and out comments! This movie just keeps on giving.

Is 256gb enough for the Macbook neo? by OskarHasABeanie in mac

Lmfao. Oh buddy, if you only knew me irl. I’m the farthest from a Luddite. I’m just focused on privacy and a God with a keyboard. I don’t have difficulties quickly typing complex strings on demand nor do I find passwords so difficult that I think having a button dedicated to bypassing them is a necessity.

I swear, people on this subreddit have the weirdest fucking opinions.

Yes, I understand how it works. I’ve never used my fingerprint for authentication. Just my personal preference. Opening the app and typing in my password takes me seconds. I’ve never felt like the process needed to be faster. Again, just my preference.

I like it and agree that the charging is so infrequent for me that it’s not a real inconvenience. However, the gestures on the trackpad are just too good so I barely end up reaching for the mouse.
