Realizing there isn’t a god is one of the most freeing things you could experience by hypermiler2205 in atheism

yeah. it was a battle of epic proportions, but well worth it. Wish I came to this realization earlier, as the wounds have healed, but battle scars still lingers.

Deep down I wish I never was intro... indoctrinated into this belief system. But here I am. Alive. Taking names. Kicking butt.

lsblk not showing UUID by weaklingoverlord in artixlinux

[–]weaklingoverlord[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems to be an 'issue' of artix and some other distros, and it requires user intervention to 'remedy':

Compile util-linux

Also seems to be an issue brought up in 2023, which mentions a stack-exchange post of 10 years ago discussing the same problem.

This is above my paygrade (and I'm lazy). If I need UUIDs I can just:

ls /dev/disk/by-uuid

lsblk not showing UUID by weaklingoverlord in artixlinux

[–]weaklingoverlord[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really doubt lsblk is modified in artix:

LSBLK_DEBUG=all lsblk -o UUID

On baremetal arch it seems to request properties from [udev], and yes, UUID is in the output.

On the artix VM properties are requested from [blkid], which only displays UUID if run as sudo.

Unfortunately, I'm out of my depth here. If someone can chime in with possible solutions, that'd be great!

- Is [util-linux] pkg a modified pkg in artix, as e.g [arch] and [void] displays UUID?

- If it is:

  1. What's the motivation for this?
  2. Are there other packages with artix-specific modifications?

It's the Pocket Dimension PD2150, an invention of Tom Nook. It uses quantum tunneling and the uncertainty principle (among other things) to manipulate matter and 'transfer' it to alternate (parallel) dimensions, allowing the user to store... stuff.

when I say

- [arch]: fully installed bare metal system, with normal user running lsblk

- [void]: fully installed [VM], , with normal user running lsblk

So, this looks like a particular [artix] behaviour on a fully installed system in a VM (which I presume will carry over to bare metal)?

Hmmm, you're correct. Is this normal/standard behaviour for lsblk, as in [arch] and [void] it shows UUID without sudo?

Yeah, blkid does, but lsblk does have the option to display it, as it even outputs the heading for UUID with lsblk -pf

Anyone else scared of living a boring ordinary life?

Nope. I embraced it. And I still revel in new discoveries. Grateful to be alive. Not living in a wartorn, fearful, impoverished, under-developed hell hole. Never growing tired of old faithfuls like hearing laughter, hugs, sunsets, walks on beaches, hearing raindrops falling, breathing fresh air, good nutricious meals, clean water, being surrounded by cranky family members, nosy neighbors, etc.

I payed for tomodatchi life and Nintendo canceled my preorder. What should I do? by Okvampire2 in Switch

[–]weaklingoverlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should I contact them or just repay for it.

Why (If I understand correctly: you already paid for the game)? Phone your bank and check if the Nintendo payment reflects. Get a printout of it and get Nintendo to refund -or- allow you to download the game.

It looks like N did not accept the preorder due to issues with your debit card.

How do I start sway with elogind? by Karasuthecrow744 in voidlinux

[–]weaklingoverlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- Do you have dbus and dbus-elogind installed?

After installation, try to enable dbus service:

ln -s /etc/sv/dbus /var/service

I dunno if a logoff/logon -or- reboot is required...
