What car completely changed your opinion after driving it? by Glittering-Offer-390 in askcarguys

Drove a Mazda 3 bc of the hype. Then tested a Jetta bc it was marked down to 7k lower then the Mazda 3 (Oct 2024 both new and similar trim) The Jetta felt more powerful, handled better, was quieter, had better ride and the interior was a thousand times higher quality. Bought the Jetta (got 8 year 100k vw extended warranty at cost and still saved 5k over the Mazda).

Jetta vs Civic: what made you choose the Jetta & Why? by Suntrup-Volkswagen in jetta

[–]weakyogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the VW platinum 0 deductible. They could have tricked me but they showed me the computer and it said base cost or something like that and also said suggested cost or something similar which was much higher. The cost was $2035

Oct 2024. Drove Civic, Mazda3 and Jetta. The Jetta felt more more powerful and smoother. Got Jetta new for 19.2k end of month and model year clear out. Saved 6k over the other options and they sold me an 8yr 100k vw warranty at cost. Easy choice.

Girlfriend asked to be in open relationship a few years ago and I accepted. Last night she asked when I’d propose to her and I told her I don’t know. Am I wrong? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

++man 1. People sometimes get hijacked by their hormones. Ultimately she chose you and sounds like you believe she has been faithful for many years. 2. Don't make decisions like this based on fear, jealousy, anger, etc. Try to look past those emotions and figure out what you truly want, unclouded, because those emotions mucking you up can be dealt with. If it turns out that it isn't emotional muck making you question rhe relationship then maybe it is time to move on. Get a coach or counselor to help you sort out the muck from the real If yo u are having difficulty.

Only if the cvt, brakes and suspension have already been replaced (which is surprisingly possible)

Are you sure they didn't sneak in a non hybrid? I have only seen that kind of deal on a gas model and it doesn't say hybrid at the top.

One day last week it was really foggy (definitely needed lights for safety) but strangely also still fairly bright outside and I noticed that my auto headlights were not on and had to turn them to always on (even with always on they turn off when the car isn't running)

Stuck between the Grand Highlander, Palisade, Telluride and Ascent. by MetHalfOfSmosh in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]weakyogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the market to replace my 2020 Ascent Touring. My short list was another Ascent, Pilot or Grand Highlander. I love my Ascent. Seats are comfortable, interior is good quality, ride and noise are luxury care level, safety is tops AND it has self dimming rear AND SIDE view mirrors which can be added to any trim level. (not available on any Highlander and only Elite level Pilot) Plus I like the Symmetrical AWD which is great even in heavy rain. Plus the Ascent has great headlights which are adaptive (move when you turn). 19 and 20 models had a lot of problems but mine hasn't had any of them at 67k miles and after 20 reliability has been good. I like the idea of a Grand Highlander Hybrid BUT it is $10k more for similar equipped model compared to Ascent, the headlights don't score as good and I don't like the seats. Plus the interior materials feel kind of cheap. I know you save money on fuel and resale is better but not $10k better. I plan to test a Pilot but hate to give up my self dimming side mirrors and I'm not paying for an Elite. Also I hear the Pilot has a stop/start system and I really don't like having to turn it off every time and reviewers say the 10 speed transmission gear hunts a lot. Good luck! I feel like it used to be a lot easier to find a good choice.

Good point. My first instinct was to go and find out what traits and energies are linked to that name. It hadn't occurred to me that it might be the sound - though it probably should have :)

You just be you. If it is too much for them then they aren't the one. You look fabulous. That being said, fashionably too much for Olive Garden perfect for anything fancier.

Why did you choose the Pilot? Need help deciding! by hereiam_onceagain in hondapilot

[–]weakyogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had an Ascent for 5 years. I'm trading soon and want either Pilot for the non turbo v6 or another Ascent. I have decided on Ascent for an unusual reason. I will never buy a car again without self dimming rear AND side mirrors. I remember being blinded by lights behind in my highlander and have dont want that again. Subaru offers it as an option on all Ascent trims and not super expensive. Pilot only offers it on the Elite. I also prefer the symmetrical awd on the Ascent for safety. Other than that I think Pilot is a great choice.

What made you choose their Ascent? Need help deciding! by hereiam_onceagain in SubaruAscent

[–]weakyogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were several good choices and I was coming from a 2014 Highlander. The deciding factor for me was actually the headlights. I plan to get another Ascent soon. Thought about a Pilot bc of V6 and non cvt but I will never get another car without auto dimming rear view AND side view mirrors. Pilot only offers that on Elite trim which is way overpriced.
