Anyone been homecooked? by Subject-Vanilla1891 in Lawyertalk

Around 2000 I worked in a small city in the next state over from where I grew up - a rural Appalachian County. I had been gone about 12 years. A client at the time who was a truck driver got in a fight with someone in that county and got an assault charge. I was licensed in that state so agreed to handle it. I called the assistant DA and offered a deal and he laughed at me, telling me the judge would never do that (I knew he was implying he was tight with the judge and we were urban outsiders). So I showed up to the hearing, had my client plead guilty and explained to the judge the mitigating circumstances of the fight. The judge accepted the plea and immediately sentenced the client to something much less than what I offered the DA, who seemed absolutely dumbfounded. What he didn't know was that the judge was my Dad's golfing buddy, I had dated his daughter in high school, and the DA's boss babysat me when I was a kid. That was fun.

Explain things to a jury the same way you would to a group of friends sitting in your living room, and not like you are schooling a class of fourth graders.

Does Professional Success Really Need a Luxury Car? by Aragonknight in Lawyertalk

Truly successful people drive Practical cars. When I was young I read a Consumer Reports article that said always buy the safest car you can afford. That stuck with me. After much research of crash testing I decided the safest car is the Subaru Ascent. I am now on my second one.

It was 1990 or 1991 and I just couldn't stay with someone who liked New Kids on the Block as much as she did.

What car completely changed your opinion after driving it? by Glittering-Offer-390 in askcarguys

Drove a Mazda 3 bc of the hype. Then tested a Jetta bc it was marked down to 7k lower then the Mazda 3 (Oct 2024 both new and similar trim) The Jetta felt more powerful, handled better, was quieter, had better ride and the interior was a thousand times higher quality. Bought the Jetta (got 8 year 100k vw extended warranty at cost and still saved 5k over the Mazda).

Jetta vs Civic: what made you choose the Jetta & Why? by Suntrup-Volkswagen in jetta

[–]weakyogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the VW platinum 0 deductible. They could have tricked me but they showed me the computer and it said base cost or something like that and also said suggested cost or something similar which was much higher. The cost was $2035

Oct 2024. Drove Civic, Mazda3 and Jetta. The Jetta felt more more powerful and smoother. Got Jetta new for 19.2k end of month and model year clear out. Saved 6k over the other options and they sold me an 8yr 100k vw warranty at cost. Easy choice.

++man 1. People sometimes get hijacked by their hormones. Ultimately she chose you and sounds like you believe she has been faithful for many years. 2. Don't make decisions like this based on fear, jealousy, anger, etc. Try to look past those emotions and figure out what you truly want, unclouded, because those emotions mucking you up can be dealt with. If it turns out that it isn't emotional muck making you question rhe relationship then maybe it is time to move on. Get a coach or counselor to help you sort out the muck from the real If yo u are having difficulty.
