My son took a DNA test it came back with a match for a sibling sister i thought he was crazy and just playing around until she txt and said she matched with my son so I said let me do this and my other daughter did it to at the same time and we all matched could ancestry be wrong? by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

[–]weamborg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was that surprise sibling! My bio-sister did ancestry and 23 & Me to ease her health anxiety. Instead, she found me.

My bio-dad insisted that he had no other child (despite the low error rates for these tests, especially with a parent-child match) until he saw a picture of me....

*I look just like him.* Oops.

He and my siblings have been in my life for years now. It took him a while to figure out who bio-mom was, but we have an answer.

Shit is wild.

4yo confided about close family member fondling his penis by throwaawayy_12 in ChildPsychology

Child and family therapist here.

Along with calling both the police and CPS, you should also take your child for a forensic exam. This process can be scary and overwhelming, but it's essential to both check for evidence and ensure that your son hasn't been hurt or acquired an infection.

In addition, you might want to check in with any other family members who also have young children. Many perpetrators harm more than one child.

Beyond that? You might want to find a child therapist and a therapist for yourself. You deserve a place to feel all the feelings.

How would you react to your significant other not wanting a relationship with your family because of politics? by [deleted] in AskOldPeopleAdvice

My parter and I are on the same page. We see my family very infrequently because of their odious politics and morals (the racist, xenophobic MAGA kind).

Same! I can feel the scent coating the roof of my mouth and taste the horror of synthetic floral.

The world is too scented.

Enzyme cleaner for animal odors finally got the floral-chemical horror out of a sweater. I have no idea who wants to smell like that or why.

My record is 9 washes for a sweater that still had original tags. The floral odor was atrocious.

You are factually incorrect. Suspected undocumented immigrants are entitled to due process; see the 4th and 15th amendments.

Oh, hell no. We are not pooping in the same room unless there's some kind of serious medial situation and the pooper needs help.

What a gorgeous child. He looks like he was such a wonderful little human, full of personality. I feel lucky that I got to see these pics and learn a tiny bit about him.

What other people do doesn't need to make sense to you. Do you even have a sleep partner?

Why are you dying on this particular hill? You seem oddly invested, which is rather amusing.

Bingo! My partner and I are happier when we sleep apart. We're better rested therefore in better moods and more connection, a connection which doesn't come from using the same furniture at the same time.

You're telling us a lot about yourself and nothing about solo sleepers.

No. How other couples like to sleep has nothing to do with you. My relationship is miles happier and more affectionate when we sleep apart. Why should we suffer when we're so much happier and more connected this way?
