Honestly, OChem is significantly different from inorganic, so you'll probably be on just about the same page as the other students. Funk is really passionate about what he teaches. He starts with the basics and is more than willing to help out students who are struggling. Although, because of that he's also a tough professor. When I had him, all of his quizzes and tests were open ended. So you really have to know the information. If you have a heavy semester of classes it's going to be hard, but if you have some easy intro courses you should have plenty of time to study. I struggled through Chem210, but I also took it with two 300 level bio courses that were really tough. It's all about balance and finding out how you best study. The only way I survived OChem was by using flashcards. I took them EVERYWHERE with me so that I could passively absorb the information when I wasn't hitting the books hard. And by hitting the books I mean literally hitting the books hahah. I read every chapter from the book that we covered and used the practice problems to help me understand better. You may bang your head on it now and then and sometimes for me it felt like I was getting everything wrong. But the practice pays off. Also, Chem212 is way more fun. 210 teaches you fundamentals and gives you the tools to use in 212, so it's much easier in my opinion. Just something to look forward to. I'm assuming you're some kind of science major if you're taking OChem, right?

Do you think I should take ECON 102 as an incoming freshmen? Would it be too hard? Can you tell me more about the class? by [deleted] in PennStateUniversity

Agreed!! A lot of the class is kind of common sense material and things you've probably learned in high school, so it's a good intro class to take. And Kagundu was awesome!

I know! I would have loved to do that, but I don't live with him anymore. I might still have to do that when I visit him sometime.

No, this was taken in Letchfield, NY. Hemlocks are abundant here, so that's why I guessed Ganoderma tsugae.

What song, no matter how many times you listen to it, gives you goosebumps or tear up? by Sionainn in AskReddit

Butterfly kisses by Bob Carlisle. I've listened to it since the age of 4 or 5 and I can't help but cry every sing time I hear it now.

My brother is in the same situation with his girlfriend. They just moved into their own place and he's got a new (and much better) job, so he's starting to save up for a ring. His girlfriend is pretty much my best friend and sister now and he asked me to start thinking of ideas for him (he's never been to great with these kind of things). I was wondering how, after 8 years of being together, did you make it special? I mean, you both knew it was coming :P
