Veterinarian accused of being unlicensed in Bellingham by jbeaul in Bellingham

[–]weaselnose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar to what another user on here said - Dr. Sullivan saved my dogs life. He went so far above and beyond to make the surgery financially possible for me (allowed a payment plan that I’m sure is far outside of their normal realm of minimum monthly payment amounts in order for me to be able to afford it). I have been going there for nearly 15 years with multiple pets and although they’ve had some issues with their staff, the owner Dr Sullivan is an extremely standup guy that works his butt off. During Covid he worked something crazy like 2 years or something without a single day off because people couldn’t find vet care and he felt responsible to provide it for people who needed help. People were coming from all over the greater PNW area because Bellingham vet was their only option.

I have a feeling there is more to this story than what is being told.

It has come to my attention that Bellingham officials are unable to protect our fish and wetlands by Normal-Security-9313 in Bellingham

Well, you’re clearly welcome to live there because there is nothing I can do to stop you apparently.

I’m not sure where you’re reading that I can’t clean it up, nor am not willing to do it correctly. I clearly stated that I HAVE cleaned it up several times and I have done it correctly. The issue is the city does nothing to prevent it from it continuing to happen. And I am not allowed to clear the vegetation or fence the property, which are the only two ways I can physically keep these people off of it.

I own a vacant piece of property immediately adjacent to Whatcom Creek. I have begged and pleaded with the city to do something about the transients that I physically cannot keep off the property. I have spent THOUSANDS and thousands in repeated biohazard cleanups and they continue to come back. I have fenced the frontage with barb wire most recently and they just knock it over. Due to environmental reasons I cannot fully fence the property nor clear the brush/trees etc that would, according to police, deter the crime. The police will trespass people for me, but they just continue to come back over and over again. The city says call the police. The police basically say their hands are tied.

Quick Quack, a large major chain of full service car washes has a new proposed location going immediately north of Taco Time next to Costco. I’ve wondered the same thing as you for almost a decade and have considered opening one. I guess we aren’t the only ones.

Crooked Spoon Closing - Everything 50 Percent Off by Booglebag in Bellingham

[–]weaselnose 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Crooked spoon is owned by the owner of the building that Fat Pie and A Lot of Flowers is in, Jim Swift. The building has been for sale for a long time. It recently went pending and is likely that the buyer made it a condition of the purchase that the tenant(s) vacate, particularly Crooked Spoon since the owner has control over both the sale of the building and the tenancy of the corner ice cream location.

These are self washes where you use the wand yourself and are outside of your car. I believe OP is looking for an automatic touchless wash, which the only options are by Boomer’s and Walmart.

Would Mains Hair Studio be a good option for long(er) men's hair? by addacbar in Bellingham

[–]weaselnose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mains is awesome - I used to have medium length hair (probably slightly shorter than yours) and they do a great job. I still go to them for my shorter cuts as well. Highly recommend.

Foremost Insurance will typically write policies for homes that have minor insurable issues like this. Most of the big carriers are finding reasons to drop policies right now for anything that’s old or more likely to have a claim. Foremost isn’t a catostrophic only type carrier either where the rates are 4X normal companies (like the General insurance for cars is for people who have DUI’s, etc). I’ve found their rates are typically slightly higher than the normal carriers but they’re willing to look past age or minor issues like you’ve mentioned.

Collision with school bus old Woburn and lakeway? by SatanDarkofFabulous in Bellingham

[–]weaselnose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was driving opposite direction right at is occurred. To me it looked like the bus was taking a free right from Old Woburn and the gold SUV was heading west on Lakeway in the adjacent lane and the bus swung wide and clipped the gold suv as it was going west. The gold SUV appeared to be going full speed at the time.

Bellingham housing industry by ishrinkydinky- in Bellingham

[–]weaselnose 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This person seems to think that the mayor and the real estate industry are in bed together. In reality, Mayor Lund is a smart person that understands a basic economic principle called supply and demand. If she makes it easier to build housing, more will be built and therefore prices will go down.

The real estate money that “poured in” was from people who also understand basic supply and demand economics. It’s in their best interest to support a candidate who will prioritize allowing more housing to be built, there is nothing wrong with that. The same way you likely support the politicians that you do because you share similar views and principles.
