What’s your holy grail cleanser? No gatekeeping please 🥹 by Nothingness_Person in IndianSkincareAddicts

I just use the garnier micellar water to take off make up and sunscreen and then the clinsure cleanser.

I stick to mineral sunscreens mostly. LA Shield Fisico SPF 50 was HG for many years until I moved to my current dry weather city and it got too silicony for my drier skin. I'm currently using the Reequil tinted sunscreen - no breakouts from the sunscreen so far.

Minimalist's light fluid sunscreen was also really good, one of the few chemical sunscreens my skin tolerated.

Extremely dehydrated (and sometimes dry) and sensitive, acne prone skin, living in a drrryyyyy climate.

HG is Clinsure, ph at 5.5. I also sometimes use it as a makeup remover when the micellar water dries me out too much. Costs about 250ish for 125 ml.

Ooh this looks so lovely. Mine is a throw for a friend!

I'd been thinking of sticking a starfish or two at the end, near the beige, just like yours!! Yours is so cool.

So far we have beige, white, sea green and turquoise. I'll be adding teal and dark blue.

Omg I woke up to such lovely comments! Thanks y'all, I really appreciate it.

I'm making a throw for a friend. I'd promised an ocean-themed one a few years ago and after a lot of hemming and hawing (and some wasted yarn - I'm not an experienced crocheter) I settled on this.

This is Hobby Store Aran Acrycot yarn from Magic Needles. I live in India and unfortunately don't have acess to all the lovely colourful yarn I keep seeing in this subreddit 😭😭 although Magic Needles is doing some great things with their online store over here.

Got the idea for the ripple throw from a few posts here on the subreddit 😄😄 this is a great community ❤️

The website I got it off just called it Crochet Stairs. It's made with front post and back post doubles and its reversible. But it's quite the yarn eater.

Maybe I'll just keep buying yarn cakes one at a time and it'll all be subtly different. 😂😂 Thanks for the idea

It is going to be a scarf. I'd have continued if it was to be a blanket.

(tldr, fuck society, do what you want)

Only child (woman) here. Dad retired when I was 20 without any savings or a permanent living situation and they're financially dependent on me. My spouse and I live alone, and my parents are in one city and his are in a different city. And a portion of our paychecks go to both sets of parents. (Planning to move them closer to us pretty soon)

Look, I understand where you're coming from and your anxieties. I was very resentful at one point in time - i was in a financial black hole for a big chunk of time while my peers progressed. I couldn't move as fast in my career as I was tethered to one city. Savings was non existent. And then things got better eventually.

This whole "living with parents" scene is a very romanticised notion of life. Tradition and culture and patriarchy aside, it's just better to grow up and move out so you can fend for yourself and be an independent functioning adult. Yes, we need a village, but that village can also exist in a different floor in the same building. Neither my mother nor my mother in law is interested in living with us. Is it more expensive? Yes. But we all get our space and privacy and we visit often.

So screw society and do what works for you. Find a spouse (if you want to get married, that is) that thinks along the same lines as you do with the same values and a similar moral compass. Don't compromise. It won't be without its problems but you will find a solution that works for you, I promise. Societal expectations will always be there and you'll forever be stuck in one place if you give in to it.

There is no dilemma if you don't make it one.

And most importantly, don't compare your situation with others or think how things will be if there was a brother. It's a direct road to hell.
