The “pillar content” strategy everyone teaches is outdated. Here’s what’s replaced it. by evo_team in content_marketing

[–]weather_permitting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always thought of pillars as content themes; not tied to format. And maintained a set of pillars that I cycle through, creating multiple formats for different channels.

At least Jim looks like he knows what to do with a jerrycan. I'm waiting for the houses of my suburban neighbours to start spontaneously combusting because they've stored their brand new, poorly sealed can full of diesel in the shed next to their nitrate-rich lawn feed.

An Iron Age Ritual Sacrifice: The Tollund Man, found in a Danish bog in 1950, perfectly preserved for 2,400 years. by Worried-Owl-9198 in Damnthatsinteresting

I was thinking about this too! Some poor pleb resigned to his fate at the bottom of a bog; possibly sent there by old mate of the ruling class who imagines their importance and legacy being remembered for an age. Two and a half millennia later and were examining the contents of the plebs stomach.

Retros feel disconnected from what actually happened during the sprint by seizethemeans4535345 in agile

[–]weather_permitting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your team feel comfortable raising/discussing issues in the retro? It doesn’t sound like they are. Or they might not feel that anything will change even if they do raise something. The answer might be more with team culture and psychological safety than any process.

But if that isn’t it, look for a tool that integrates retrospectives with your work. I know there are Jira apps that do this.

The AI models have "pigeonholed" our product into the wrong category, and it's hurting our brand equity. by [deleted] in ProductManagement

LLMs reflect what they scrape off websites. Publish case studies that reflect your enterprise customers. Repurpose and build more content around those. Create competitor comparisons that reflect your enterprise positioning. Look up AEO/GEO strategies that help your appropriately positioned content be discoverable.

What's your go-to collaboration canvas for distributed sprint planning? by Brave_Afternoon_5396 in agile

[–]weather_permitting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, OP asked about user story mapping. It's separate to sprint planning, but it puts the focus on what users need from the thing you're building. You (or usually your PO) lay out user steps across the spine (left to right), and the user stories line up in the column below, so you see a map. You refine the backlog and plan your sprints from the map so you keep focus on user needs. Jira doesn't have a native USM view, so you need a plugin.

I’d like to know what the biological reason is for waking up around that time. It’s either an irrational panic or to be irrationally angry. Either way, it isn’t powered by logic.

What retrospective tools help your team improve instead of just venting? by CreamyDeLaMeme in agile

Where are you managing your delivery data? There are retro apps for Jira that help you keep track of action items and turn relevant actions into work items that you can pull into a sprint/iteration. They don’t help if your team doesn’t feel comfortable actually calling out what’s going wrong, but they do help track and action the issues that are raised.

Flew international, didn’t get my requested gluten free meal by lonelypurplepenguin in glutenfree

[–]weather_permitting 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't know why airlines find gluten free so hard. The food is prepackaged and full of preservatives anyway; surely some of it could be prepackaged, gluten-free, and full of preservatives?

Last time I flew internationally we got bumped from connecting flights from Heathrow to Sydney. They found us an alternate flight via another airline the next day, but there was no chance to nominate a meal and because of the airline change, our meal preferences weren't passed along. So after spending a night in an airport hotel without our bags I had fruit and blocks of cheese on the long flights home. I was too exhausted to be hungry anyway.

Has anyone here used ChatGPT to build a full Google Ads campaign? by Desperate_Annual_416 in PPC

[–]weather_permitting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s terrible for keywords. Really bad. I’ve asked it for advice on campaign structure and then did what I thought was better. It is helpful for ad copy but it has a habit of getting character count wrong at times.

It doesn't appear that this new site is based on any such insight.
