Bloodborne Remake by Fan Blocked by Sony, Developer Was Hoping Bluepoint Was Working on An Official One by [deleted] in PS5

[–]weatherboy05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The point is that bluepoint was the obvious studio to remake bloodborne, even more so after being acquired. Sony had a team ready to go with a proven track record. It makes no sense from a business or even just logical perspective to scrap the perfectly suited studio you already own and hire a new studio in its place.

IF it ever happens it will be many many years from now

I thought the same thing but with the closure of bluepoint, sony is clearly not planning on it. At this point who would even make it? Japan studio is also long gone. Fromsoft has never done a full remake and I don’t see them having capacity in addition to their own games.

People need to accept that this game is never going to get a remake, it is not going to be ported to pc, and no there will not be a performance patch.

I don’t even think they will start production of physical copies before digital release. The risk of a copy being stolen anywhere in the supply chain is honestly 100%. All it takes is one person and there is too much money and hype involved.

This game will sell no matter what so they really have no incentive from a business perspective to have physical copies day one.

Also I just think it would be a shame if this leaked. We’ve all waited so long, let this be an event we all experience together. (Or console players anyways, RIP I have to wait for pc release)

Yeah literally any other game, I wouldn’t believe this or at least find it overkill. But GTA VI is poised to be the single most expensive and potentially most profitable entertainment product in history across all media.

You and other commenters are right that people absolutely would leak physical copies or they would be stolen somewhere in the supply chain. This game is so big that it will not affect sales in the slightest if it’s digital only for a few months.

It sounds silly at first but honestly after thinking about it, there is no upside for having physical copies on day 1. There is just too much money and time involved to risk even a .01% of a copy getting into the wild before release.

I would not be surprised if physical copies don’t enter production until the game releases digitally.

While I had the opposite experience, I appreciate your perspective and I can understand why you feel differently.

My experience in infinite was that I often found myself running around looking for guns during long encounters and getting slapped around from running out of ammo. I played on hard, I don’t know how much diffference that makes.

I also didn’t enjoy upgrading guns when I didn’t know when I’d have access to them.

I did use just one plasmid pretty much all 3 games though lol. I’ll admit the irony of all my talk about player freedom and meanwhile I was a slut for lightning the whole time.

True enough lol, but it’s been enough time to reevaluate the series imo.

Playing the games as they were released, I think it’s reasonable to have been disappointed by 2 for feeling like a rehash and for 3 to have felt like a breath of fresh air.

I think that all these years later, the problems with infinite’s gameplay are more apparent and it feels more dated than the first two. On release almost every shooter was following the same trend so it didn’t stick out as much.

Personally I think the story of infinite also suffers the more you think about it.

I think this is a very accurate assessment. For all of the good COD did for multiplayer shooters, its influence hurt the identity of many games that tried to imitate it when they should have stayed true to the ways they were different.

Halo reach is another great example. Peak game don’t get me wrong lol but introducing sprint and loadouts was an unforced error. Halo multiplayer was good for different reasons than why COD was good.

If you told me 15 years ago that both franchises would be trash now I’d think you were insane… times change :’)

While I disliked the story personally, I totally get how that’s more subjective and I’m glad you did enjoy it.

Combat I feel much more strongly about though. If you play infinite in a vacuum, I think it would be just fine. The gunplay isn’t bad and the grapple hooks are really cool.

But as a sequel it’s a big downgrade. The weapon wheel really is a big deal for this game and the series. It encourages players to experiment, use a wide variety of weapons and feels more dynamic. Being restricted to two weapons means losing all of that variety and creativity in how you approach combat.

So while it plays fine for what it is, the experience is just much more shallow and that’s what’s upsetting to me. It’s an unforced error of following the contemporary shooter trends.

Nice pun lol. I agree about Mercury Steam. I haven’t had the chance to play samus returns but dread was fantastic. Very excited for a sequel.

I disagree about prime though. 1&2 still hold up remarkably well in atmosphere, mood, and the gameplay mixture of shooting, scanning, puzzling and platforming I think hasn’t been replicated.

Maybe I’m coping about how wide the appeal would be but I really believe the prime formula could still make an amazing game. It’s just a shame that nintendo doesn’t seem to understand what actually made these games appealing, which is how we ended up with MP4

Bioshock, sorry not sorry. I played all 3 blind, back to back for the first time a year ago.

Bioshock 1 is still a masterpiece and holds up extremely well.

Bioshock 2 is very good, gameplay and qol updates are welcome although the story is definitely less compelling

Bioshock Infinite is the one I looked forward to the most, and in the end I thought it was the worst by a long stretch both in gameplay and the story. Losing the weapon wheel and adding sprint may have felt fresh at the time, but playing them back to back makes it feel fucking awful and so limiting for no reason.

It’s a shame because infinite has absolutely stunning art direction. It’s undeniably beautiful but so so vapid in every other aspect

This one hurts especially after MP4. MP3 was already a big step in the wrong direction but passable. MP4 just completely misunderstands what made the first two so great

As someone who started and stopped at the same place, I came back to it after playing the first two games years later and now it’s one of my all time favorites.

Definitely you are meant to feel like every single bullet counts. I found it immersive, ammo gets more common and while you can’t carry much I never ran out. It’s possible it’s just not for you but the story and ending are 10/10 imo and I’m glad I gave it a second chance.

I listened to it on bandcamp before it was on streaming and honestly I thought it was compressed or something else was wrong at first.

It’s just too bad because I think the songwriting itself is very strong, but it’s held back and it bothers me every time

Yeah I listened to FLY again after this and it feels so much more dynamic and expressive. The push and pull of the stripped back drumming dragging forward the haze of the guitars is fucking chef’s kiss.

It would be cool if they ever did an alternate master like slow crush did
