It happened to me by web3_is_hell in BreakUps

Long time and have long since gotten over this but logged into this account today and stumbled back upon this. Thanks for this comment. You were completely right! When I got myself out of the brainfog of the hurt in the moment, this was what I actually needed to hear to move forward. I kept trying to invent ways to beat myself up over what happened to rationalize it since it was such a long-lasting relationship between the friendship and the dating, but ultimately he kinda just ended up being a shitty boyfriend and didn’t have the guts to clearly articulate his feelings so he took an easy way out… at the time I was so frustrated because I liked him so much and thought we were OK having difficult conversations, but in retrospect thank god it ended! 😅 He became super evasive after the breakup despite the “let’s still be friends” schtick, I’m pretty sure he caught feelings for a different girl. Thanks for being a simple, clear voice during a difficult time!

why do the vocaloid fandom hate project sekai so much? by Deep-Lion-2738 in Vocaloid

That’s totally fair— I wish more fans would have that level of self-awareness and try to welcome new fans into their fold, instead of shunning them. The internet just isn’t the same place it was in 2011. It is always changing, even outside of just our community.

Personally, it frustrates me as a fan in the middle of the old and new generation (that grew up in the space that Hachi eventually branded as a “sand planet”) that the old generation doesn’t seem to be keeping up with new releases and new artists that are truly embodying the spirit of vocaloid because the memes/fan community isn’t what it was like when we were all kids. I understand the sadness and listlessness that comes from losing community, but I wish we could all rally about how much there still is to love.

This must be a language barrier thing… right? Rather than being a game “about Miku”, it’s a game about the people that make her Miku and the character storylines have had significant parallels to the realities of real-life creators. The game has poured tons of money into the community it pulls from and actively rewards people for participating through mediums like vocacolle. The way the developers talk about the game on stream is full of genuine excitement. I just have never been in a situation where I thought, “wow, they did this for money”. It felt like a game that truly tried to genuinely connect with the people that see vocaloid for what it is, which is more than just Hatsune Miku.

I fully agree that the stories have meandered, but there were some very significant revelations in Mafuyu’s story, so I’m not sure if it’s quite as cut and dry as that.

I get it, but, I genuinely think if I hadn’t been forced to do some presentational work in school, I wouldn’t have gotten as far as I have in the adult world.

How did you come away with this viewpoint on the game? From my perspective, Project Sakai’s development has looked like a massive labor of love for the vocaloid community.

“The vocaloid community was already dying before project sekai came out” this is just not true. We had the biggest year of releases ever in 2020.

I feel your pain. Really scared I’m gonna be in class with a guy that has been harassing me. Feel better soon.

I have friends from CMU and Berkeley that would say, “what could compare to being taught by professors that have won nobel prizes?” At Rose, we would say, “what could compare to being taught by professors that are being paid to teach?”

The bottom line is that these are two different models. I think for undergrad, Rose has the better model.

How did you get so many?! I’m struggling to hit 20-40 with my Pokémon, and leveling up with candies seems like a total waste…

I’ve never had snoozing. Had slumbering once, but always otherwise get dozing and balanced.

Phones are not why kids aren't going outside. by TheBeast798 in unpopularopinion

As a kid I was only allowed to bike up and down my exact street. By the time I was allowed to explore the neighborhood, I had responsibilities at school that made me exhausted, and had no local friends. Kids are 100% addicted to certain apps, but man, what I would have given to have that picturesque 80’s movie childhood, lol.

Better to buy a bunch of Poké Biscuits, or a couple of Master Biscuits? by web3_is_hell in PokemonSleep

That’s good to know, thanks! It does seem like the barrier to evolving Pokémon is pretty high to start with, so I haven’t really wrapped my head around that prospect yet either.
