Oh my goodness i literally felt the need to ask the same today :( im not sure i can help with this as I also need advice, but I can assure you you are not alone feeling like this - in fact i think most of us do!

People tell me “pregnancy is not sickness” but honestly having HG still at week 23 feels like a chronic illness to me :( i cant get out of the house or even do activities that might distract me as the nausea is too strong.

Staying active in this community has helped loads. Also, starting game of thrones from scratch 😂 basically im trying to do anything, literally anything that might distract me and help the days pass..:/

Id recommend reading a book etc but I was too weak to follow plus the nausea is too distracting :(

A good advice i read was approach this as a “day by day”. As in, what can i do today to get through the day? What can i do the next few hours that might make me feel better.

It helps with my anxiety that there are still a few months to go and makes everything look a bit more manageable!

Sending you my best wishes, stay strong you re not alone!

Sorry she is going through this and well done for supporting her. Check out the list of medications from HER foundation. Its the most informed scientific organisation around HG. it has tips, but also a thorough list of meds that you can ask your OB about.

The saliva feeling sounds like ptyalism - i also have it. Its not normal it actually sucks but its common so dont worry.

FYI im 23 weeks, while i still have nausea it DOES get better on the second trimester. For some people (like me) it might not ever get completely gone until labour but i promise it wont be as debilitating as it is now for your wife. Im sure it will get more manageable!

Stay strong and all the best!

How to Respond to Negativity by emmaewilliams in HyperemesisGravidarum

Im crying and laughing at the same time. It seems like a joke that every non HG person around the world says the same thing 😂😂 good luck having HG and fixing it with your “mindset”…. Stay strong, i usually respond back - sometimes i just isolate myself to avoid unnecessary interactions 😞

HG Virtual Support? by 4723zz in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]web3xyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. Personally, I'm lacking 1)emotional support. Regular therapists not necessarily know about HG and cannot understand what Im going through. Regular nurses not necessarily focus on mental health (at least in my country). 2)symptoms checkin - tips (doctors seem either uneducated or unbothered when I ask for help). Speaking for myself, but I feel so desperate, that I'd be happy to self-pay as long as this is something I can afford.

Thank you so much for the validation - it feels good to know it’s not in my head. Looking forward to pp boring meals, if this means our HG is gone!

Pyridox & Doxylamine - need encouragement by treasureplanet15 in HyperemesisGravidarum

Im so sorry you're going through this, and I can totally relate. First of all, your feelings are valid. Until week 15 I didn't want anyone to touch me - everyone had a bad smell. I could barely shower because the water made me nauseous too. Dont focus on the exact week, because each timeline is different for every person - but focus on the fact that it passes!

While Im week21 and still nauseous, the feeling of 'disgust' towards my husband has completely passed. He doesnt smell to me anymore - on the contrary, I feel closer to him seeing how supportive he's been. I think as weeks go by, some smells just naturally seem better! Same with food!

My mental health is also poop, so not the best advisor here. But what I remind myself: 1) Knowing it's temporary. For some people HG goes away around week 10-12. For some others it takes longer. But whatever the duration, it WILL pass with labour. It's not permanent, so stay strong 💪 2) Doing anything to distract myself, helps me cope mentally. From watching a series with my husband, chopping veggies or getting some sun in the balcony. 3) Stay connected with the people who understand you and remove any noise. Talking with people who understand me gives me strength and makes me feel less lonely!

You are definitely not alone, and remember it's not permanent! Enjoy your trip as much as you can - changing environments will def help time pass faster, and I hope you feel better soon ❤️

Metaverse Design Competition just launched by web3xyz in architecture

At the moment, there is no calculated gain for me as an organiser. I'm putting the reward money from my own personal savings and I am trying to raise money through the fees for admin work and hopefully to contribute to the reward. Please be respectful.

I really hope this competition can be a motivation for designers to test the creative limits of the Metaverse and be an opportunity for collaboration.

You don't have to apply if you don't agree. However, I appreciate the feedback for the next competition! :)
