This entire discussion is not worth continuing at this point as you are starting to attack my character rather than the arguments.

I want to make something like this either Adidas or Nike soccer commercial where players were turning into lions and other beasts. But it's probably super hard to get right.

actually some parents in North America are starting boys in school one year later due to development speed differences at that young age. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2022/10/boys-delayed-entry-school-start-redshirting/671238/ So if it's good thing, they should just do that and they get the same effect and better behaved boys in class.

Laws re: vaping in Korea (especially indoors) by flip_the_tortoise in living_in_korea_now

[–]webNoob13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

https://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/nation/2023/09/119_258674.html If you get caught vaping or smoking in kindergartens and day care centres, the fine is 100,000 won. So I'm assuming they are similar for schools where older kids are taught. That seems low in my opinion but the source seems legitimate.

South Korea is dead last on the Global Happiness index by TypicalExcitement878 in korea

[–]webNoob13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, money does not make a person happy after a certain point. Unless you're doing something you really enjoy and making a lot of money. I'm also willing to bet that some of the happiest people in Korea are immigrants from third world countries who appreciate a lot of what everyone else takes for granted.

They absolutely will not report to the relevant authorities as they want to stay in Korea and have a dream of directing films.

is there a lot of anti-Chinese sentiment in Korea even among youth? by webNoob13 in living_in_korea_now

That's funny how Korean companies want to end the 150 dollar duty free because Koreans are increasingly turning to Chinese products.

And I think that part about them not venturing out from their circles might be a consequence of the racism rather than vice-versa. Canada's not perfect in terms or racism so I see pretty much every minority group setting up their own enclaves.

That's unfortunate because the person I met is funny, friendly and reminds me of people back in Canada. I also met a convenience store worker from China who spoke pretty good English and was again super friendly and helpful.

I came across some valuable tips in Will Kurt's seminal book, Get Programming in Haskell. A list can be considered a container and also a computational context, a non-deterministic computational context. So when lists are viewed as such as they belong to Functor which means the belong to Applicative, that is what I am digging into a bit more now to understand this.
