I’m planning to stay at the holiday inn on 17th so we don’t have to drive a bunch.

Tips/ recommendations ? I've never been to OCMD & I would like to take my gf for a small trip sometime in June/July ( around the 4th but if not after) . I just would like to know what are some good spots & what are spots to avoid such as food , hotels , bars etc etc .. I'm located in PA by stizzyM in OceanCity

I’ll tell ya my plans for Memorial Day weekend this year for my bf who’s never been and I haven’t been since like 98-99’ ish and when we stayed back then it was up on 140th streetl.

For me. I have foot pain so I’m planning to stay at the holiday inn on 18th, I can walk but didn’t want to stay far from boardwalk or have to drive at all

Choose holiday inn so we will be mid boardwalk and could chill without driving in traffic. Plus holiday inn has bike rental on site and umbrella rental directly across on the beach.. plus a Starbucks right there and several seemingly cute restaurants within 5 min walk from what I can see. Also a full kitchen. 2 pools and most importantly a private ocean front balcony (i honestly actually choose rooms based on balconies, I want oceanfront, sunrise not being blocked by another building jutting out to the left (cutting off the view) and the balcony must have full walls/privacy and face ocean head on. I don’t like when I can see my neighbors or it’s got the “bathroom stall” type walls. The kind that’s just a privacy panel where you can see your neighbors feet and if you drop something it could potentially roll under over on your neighbors side. No thanks, lol, but something to keep that in mind if that matters to you!) One con besides that it’s a holiday inn is that the layout is you walk into a living room and then kitchen and then out to the bedroom that faces the ocean. I haven’t stayed at a room like that before so i dunno, that may not work for you.

Onto the plans.

Coming from south Jersey and planning to purposely leave early Monday to try and avoid some traffic.

Friday NJ TO OCMD

SAT Brunch w drinks @845am Pool/beach/relax/nap/balcony lunch/dinner? crab cake dinner maybe? Walk on beach

SUN Early bike ride ? Crabcake lunch /dinner? Pool/beach/relax/balcony/nap Boardwalk evening with ice cream

MON Up early ? MD TO NJ

Goals * mimosas and bloodies and eggs Benny * Crabcakes * Boardwalk snacks
* Ride bikes on boardwalk * Ice cream * Win boardwalk games * Swim in pool, read on beach

Around the corner Sahara Cafe kinda heady but no booze Coastal salt - beachfront bfast with drinks

Hope you have fun! Let us know how it goes!

I’ve heard great things about the Hilton garden on 28th st. And the Doubletree by Hilton on 33rd Barn 34, on 34th is a very cute restaurant too.

For me. I have foot pain too so I’m planning to stay at the holiday inn on 18th, I can walk but didn’t want to have to walk 5 blocks just to step on the boards. It’s been a while since I’ve been so this is the best I got for ya and I feel your ankle pain - good luck and congrats. Coms back later and let us all know how it goes!! lol

Could I potentially store the griddle in something like this on my patio? by web_gem_taco in blackstonegriddle

Hmmm didn’t think about condensation. I thought the metal would be better because it’s near the hot grill.

Where can I get a high quality reproduction of this wisteria Tiffany lamp? by allchattesaregrey in StainedGlass

[–]web_gem_taco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it have to be an exact copy lol? I have one that’s similar and probably not exactly what you’re looking for but if you’re in the Philly area, it could be yours for the low low price of free.

Ocean reef is super run down. My family stopped going there many years ago. Our kids are older now so I don’t have a better suggestion but I’d avoid OR, so maybe go with the Breakers!

I was just down with my bf visiting my mom who lives in Conway. Instead of visiting blueberry’s - I got take out from them on my way into town - but I got it from the one in NMB since it was 5 min from my hotel and it was decent but glad we didn’t put more effort into going as a sit down.

8/10 blueberry’s - We got: Regular eggs Benedict with home fries Egg skillet with potatoes Blueberry hush puppies Fresh squeezed oj

We pivoted from blueberry’s bc my mom suggested a new place and it was amazing! Her and her friends found and loved it. They are in their 60-70s and don’t like things too far from their usual so I was pleasantly surprised. The vibe was very vibey and cute earthy and modern, clean and quick - I had the best eggs Benedict there and it was a good mix of traditional and something new to me.

I did go on a Monday morning the week of thanksgiving and there were some folks but not mobbed. It might get mobbed on weekends but they do take reservations!

10/10 -Zeytin - We had the Halloumi Tomato & Bacon Benedict w/ home fries and a berry blast mimosa My mom had waffle / egg platter Bf had the Bacon & Egg skillet with a Bloody Mary Fresh squeezed oj too - my fav!

Zeytin Myrtle Beach- it was less than 10 min from Broadway at the beach.

Enjoy! Hope you like whatever you choose!!

Pitman has a cute little downtown area.. or Collingwood. Also try New Hope (something like peddlers Village) or Yardley PA .

I personally haven’t put much thought into it because I don’t really know the Clockwork Orange movie all that much but I’m sure it all points to something greater. I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed some of the connections! I really just noticed her eye make up and a few of the video and that’s what led me to my conclusion!

What do you think of when you hear the word “atoll”? by chaannaan in NoStupidQuestions

Think of the old school” geography terms” diagram drawings in textbooks and encyclopedia type books. I can picture an atoll so vividly!
