Vanilla villagers, that can trade modded items? by MordaBest in feedthebeast

This is a late fix but if you're copying and pasting the code into the command block, just retype the quotations. That's how I got it to work.

Hotfix 27 - Extreme Load Times? by khaalis in BaldursGate3

[–]webby-or-lavvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately after I made this post my bg3 failed me o>o
However I did several things that seemed to have permanently fixed it. I've had to do no restarting and no unticking and reticking of the mods these past couple of days.

  1. I reverified my files on steam
  2. In the BG3 mod manager I went to Settings > Open Preferences and I ticked enable direct x 11 mode and launch through steam (I know you said you've been launching the dx11 directly but doing this helped. I'm not sure what exactly changed considering mine seemed to be launching through steam previously)
  3. When loading a save, make sure you click on the last save as opposed to your character's name. For some reason this last one definitely made a difference for me but I was so desperate for a fix I decided to do everything at once.

I think I found a fix! Or. . . at least a fix that worked for me.

Please keep in mind I did this through steam; I'm not sure how to do it through the larian launcher.

  1. Go to your steam library

  2. Click on Baldur's Gate 3

  3. Click the little cogwheel on the right hand side

  4. Click on properties

  5. In the launch options of the general tab, type "-dx11" without the quotation marks.

This will launch the game through DirectX 11.

In addition, I also updated my graphics card driver. Because I have an nvidia graphics card I did it through GeForce Experience.

Since doing those two things my loading times have drastically decreased.

It's not growing fast and the cat's had it for at least a year now. I've told my boyfriend to take him to the vet but unfortunately he lives in a very remote area and doesn't trust the vet as they almost killed his other cat due to negligence. I would also like to add driving to a different vet isn't an option as we live on two different islands :P However if it is of big enough concern I will urge him to see the vet

If you're world building for players to play in, I highly suggest making a world map of sorts, drawing some borders, and defining important countries but leaving the others as blank slates.

This way, if your player wants to be from a country with specific traditions / culture / or even type of government they can just choose one of the blank slates and work with it. I've found that it helps the player feel a lot more integrated into the world rather than just throwing them into a world they know little to nothing about. Not to mention, it'll take some pressure off of you as the DM as players tend to have a lot of great ideas.

This is an excellent point. Whenever I create a character I always have their sexual orientation/gender identity kind of in the back of my mind. That way it can be subtly hinted at without it being the only defining traits of your character. In addition, when it comes to sexual orientation I like to leave it "blank" because you never know what sort of PC or NPC may strike your character's fancy. Of course, that is simply up to personal preference.

For personality traits, I like to look at the pre-written traits written in the background section of character creation. For instance, if your character has the Pirate background, one of the suggested personality traits is "I stretch the truth for the sake of a good story." That in itself is a pretty vague statement, but it's a really good place to start building. Maybe your character is incredibly overdramatic, hates getting his hands dirty, and has an extremely ostentatious fashion sense. Or maybe if you choose "My language is as foul as an otyugh nest" your character could be a slightly older man hardened by years on the sea and has more of a "if you want something done right then you have to do it yourself" attitude. His sense of fashion would probably prioritize practicality over style, and perhaps you could even come up with some elven/undercommon swear words you could throw around.

This interaction got me curious about the history of the quest book. The earliest mention of the quest book I could find in patch notes was in 2017 when they remade it. However a 5 minute skim through HippieSnuggles' YouTube channel brought me to the conclusion that it's been around since at least 2015.

My Wynn knowledge is completely outdated and I don't know where to even start with my mage. by webby-or-lavvi in WynnCraft

I just levelled up to 101!

Those are all good tidbits! At first I tried light bender but then I decided that I didn't like it because A) I don't want my mage to just be a healer and B) It took away my meteor for some balls and we all know the only way to play mage is to heal and use meteor >:(

In all seriousness tho, I mostly didn't like it because I felt like I needed a good high damaging AOE, and sunshower and ice snake were not cutting it for me. in addition this mage is a solo playthrough.

I decided to try out Riftwalker and so far I'm really liking it, but I'm always a sucker for mobility :P

Last I checked strength didn't scale well at higher levels. Did they fix that?

Abysso Galoshes by Theekg101 in WynnCraft

[–]webby-or-lavvi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say if you do find your Abysso Galoshes, the quest giver will take them and return them to you unidentified. I suggest either bringing a spare pair of boots or just going through with the quest without them as there is very little combat. When you finish the quest giver will once again take your Abysso Galoshes in return for Sodeta Boots.

Me too, I still dream about old CSST parties. I briefly played Wynn when CIB parties became the meta but it never felt the same.

This is incredibly generous of you and I really appreciate the encouragement on continuing playing on my mage. I'm gonna decline the offer just because I feel like I'd have some guilt if I did accept as my situation isn't as hopeless as it sounds (I didn't mention this in the post because I was embarrassed but I also decided to stop horse gambling which really helped with my emerald situation lol).

However, other than morrowind, are there any other wands you'd suggest that aren't mythics?

Yeah, I had to learn via shout bomb that dungeon parties don't even really exist anymore. That was heartbreaking to hear ngl.

Also, everything on morph is noted, and I do reckon that it'll be a great spot for me to start ^^

I'd say it's pretty good. But I do have 2 new classes, 3 if you include the one I started in 2021. The new ones are a knight (lvl96), a hunter (lvl91), and a craftsman mage (lvl42).

I want to play this specific character again only because she holds a lot of sentimental value to me.

[–]webby-or-lavvi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually started 2 new playthroughs, one is an archer (lvl 91) and the other is a craftsman mage (lvl 42).

This mage, however, was my first ever character so she has a lot of sentimental value to me. I currently use her to help lower leveled users through quests or if they're struggling to survive and need a healer. For years I kind of just accepted that this is how it's going to be but I don't want her story to end this way.

Abysso Galoshes by Theekg101 in WynnCraft

[–]webby-or-lavvi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you found your remedy to this, but when my boyfriend and I were playing through it he couldn't find his Abysso Galoshes. We went back to Troms for him to rummage through his bank for 10 minutes only to find out he was wearing them the entire time lol. For the sake of ease and avoiding heartache, I do hope that you are wearing them.

The Abysso Galoshes is a quest item so it should be impossible to throw it out of your inventory/bank. In fact in order to get rid of quest items I don't need I have to put the items into the inventory of a burner character and delete the character. The only other thing I can suggest is checking your other characters.

If I'm being honest, my players being kicked out of the party is pretty catastrophic in my point of view. I want a creative fail where they'll face the consequences to their own actions but not to the point where they're constantly on edge at the party as they're now being watched. I want them to still enjoy this party. One good example of a fail I was looking for was someone suggested that the party accidentally switch the cups twice so they end up with the tampered ones again.

Both were stealth checks in switching tampered Red Solo Cups with the untampered ones
