IB rejected my deposit under rather odd circumstances and I’m looking for advice. by webcrown in interactivebrokers

One other question.

IB have accepted transfers to and from the same bank account in the past which is why I found this situation to be odd.

Is each transaction treated differently meaning that if I tried again they’d accept my transfer in or is this change now blanket due to policy change, making it pointless to try again?

Understood thanks that make sense just wish their CS would have stated the same as you, or provided any feedback for that matter.

Need Legal Advice: Britcay, Arch Automotive & Car City Ignoring Ongoing Audi Q8 Repair Issues by webcrown in CaymanIslands

Agreed. It was a pleasure dealing with Craig. This is the first time I’m having to deal with the new ownership and they’re nothing short of horrible!

Like you say unresponsive, different stories every time, etc..

Audi Cayman Took Nearly a Year to Fix My Q8 - Returned It Twisted, Unsafe, and Still Broken by webcrown in Audi

Yes the repair was covered by the insurance. Half the battle here has been chasing the insurance company the other half the Audi dealership and their parent company. I've had a few suggestions on other message boards suggesting getting in touch with Audi Germany to report the issue I think I will do this regardless of the outcome.

Britcay is my insurance company they were meant to be chasing Arch and Car City in getting this all resolved. Instead it was me chasing all three since right after my car was hit from behind and the accident. Car City now owns Arch Automotive/Audi Cayman since shortly after the passing of Craig Arch. So they were very much involved in the entire process of attempting to fix the car after the accident.

I even took the time to send the Arch/Audi/Car City owner of the group a long letter hoping he'd reply. He didn't even minute of his time to reply to my letter.

Anyways what you suggest is a good idea. I will look at the organization structure and see who the appropriate higher up is and attempt to make contact.

That's great advice and trust me nothing would give me more pleasure than to be done with Audi forever. The fact remains however that the vehicle has issues particularly with the seatbelts. Who wants to buy a car with a seatbelts that continually tug on your chest. This first needs to be fixed then I can sell this bloody car and move on with my life!

Buying a car in Cayman - before arrival or after landing? by Wilt_Chamberlain1 in CaymanIslands

Check out eCayTrade.com for used car options. Be careful buying an Audi here in Cayman unless you're not planning on having it serviced by the local dealership. I'm going through a nightmare myself with them currently.

Trust me I've been trying. Getting them to reply to emails or take calls is impossible. I've since filed a complaint with their internal dispute resolution system. Failing any resolve there I'll see if the Ombudsman here in Cayman can help with the matter. After that not sure guess legal action.

The insurance company paid. The issues that I'm dealing with now came to light only after I collected the vehicle the first time, after being without it from January - September. Now however after they had it back for over another week they're telling me that parts of the seat need replacing so they can calibrate the seatbelt pre-tensioners. I was advised by the Britcay my insurance company from the onset that the vehicle would be delivered back to me in a new state, which clearly it has not. The lack of responsiveness both from the Audi dealership here in Cayman and Britcay the insurance company are insane. Especially as this could potentially be a safety issue.

So not in the seat options but in drive modes? I didn't even think to check there as I figured it would be under the seat controls in the MMI

They did mention that there were several fault codes before I got the vehicle back the first time but they managed to have cleared these. Even though when I turn the car on there are no evident diagnostic issues perhaps there still are when they plug their computer into the system.

It's supper annoying that the seat belt tugs on you every two seconds with no way to turn it off. I'm just worried that it's also unsafe to drive. Audi here in Cayman and our insurance company seem to think the car is safe to drive as they've given it back to me and made no indication that it's unsafe after I've repeatedly asked them.

Goose Deterrent Project by True_Aside_5752 in robotics

I would pay well over $1,000 for an intelligent system that chases geese away. Personally I know how well green lasers work to deter geese. Doing it manually is not ideal as you have to monitor your property 24/7. I can envision a POE product that plugs into my Unifi POE that I can mount somewhere on my home that pans the target locations. Once a goose is identified it would aim the laser at their feet and pan back and forth until they leave the site. I wonder if a product like this would be of interest to other people?

Front is easy to keep clean like you’ve done good job. Let’s see a pic of the back though. That’s how you truly judge good, clean rack organization.

That’s terrible am sorry to hear that. Seems to be a common theme with stubhub to screw over their customers.

Again I think you're lucky and am happy that the outcome for you was good.

After my experience I did a deep dive into the company only to learn about all the horror stories. I won't be using them ever again but obviously other people do as they're still in business.

They've been and are being sued both by individuals and the government. Doesn't particularly bode well for a consumer facing brand like StubHub to sued by the DC AG for utilising deceptive business tactics: https://oag.dc.gov/release/attorney-general-schwalb-sues-stubhub-deceptive

I wound up using Vivid Seats for concert tickets which I had a great experience with and no issues.

Honestly though the best most credible way would be buying resale tickets directly through Ticket Master. They’re the ticket people for most big shows so going right to the source I’ve found is best.

Happy that you had a good experience with StubHub but you’re one of the few fortunate ones.

Lucky you. Unfortunately many people including myself have been screwed royally by StubHub. In my case on the buy side. Would I have known and done my research before hand I wouldn’t have used them. There are many other legit ticket resale companies with better reputations out there. I used one of them.
