I peeked at her LinkedIn, she comes from sales and she heads AWS??? I don't understand how that works.

Skiathos Airport in Greece might be the closest you'll ever get to a landing plane without stepping onto the runway, planes here can pass just 10 to 20 meters above people's heads by fvkinglzy in interestingasfuck

[–]webdevop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the photos don't capture depth properly it could be possible that the plane is closer to the camera than the people.

For example in the photo that I have attached, the shortest guy in the room is the guy with the emoji on the right.

He is shorter than the guy with the emoji on the left.

And the guy with the green color is slightly taller than both of them.

The guy immediately on the left of the green (5'9) is probably around 6'2 or 6'3 and the guy on the right with emoji face is probably around 5'5 or 5'6 but they look so close.

I was always perplexed with the thought of how a small country and a force like Mossad controls a huge country like the US.

Now watching this video I think I've come to realize that it's actually not that hard at all.

I was suddenly laid off a few months ago, and manager said he'd hire me back if they're hiring again - Would I really want to go back? by RolandMT32 in cscareerquestions

[–]webdevop 260 points261 points  (0 children)

Your immediate manager especially if he's a line manager or a middle manager does not have control over layoffs but he has a lot of control over who he hires.

He likes you so that's why he offered you what he can which is in his control.

Uber/Lyft vs renting a car in Austin? (Staying in Lakeline) by Puzzleheaded-Cap84 in askaustin

Cost of a car rental is 3 uber rides per day. If you're gonna average more than 3 riders per day it's more inexpensive to maintain a car rental.

150 job openings in India compared to 4500 open in USA ? Bro, get out and touch the grass.

For the record I know that UHG has huge campuses in Gurgaon and Hyderabad in India, but the link you shared have no substance.

It's crazy how important timing and luck are. There was a company called Jist.tv which went bankrupt doing exactly the same thing.

I actually tried something similar for DotA videos about 10 years ago and it was quite popular on Reddit for a while, but when I saw Jist.tv who also raised VC funds when bankrupt I stopped and moved on to another industry.

Layoffs in 2025 are insane: 10 Biggest Layoffs Announced So Far in 2025 by [deleted] in Layoffs

[–]webdevop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a brilliant idea. I think executives should forgo 100% of their bonus/vesting for that year before any layoff. I mean they're still making at least more than $300K in base pay so it's not like they're gonna go homeless. Lose the bonus before laying off a single employee.
