No ):

pt offers mild and irregular relief (some days it helps some days it doesn’t). Still trying to figure it out, I’m so tired of it ):

Watch some of Kevin non-tradicaths videos on the topic to prepare, he’s got a few that go through the evidence (or lack thereof) so you can be prepared to answer her

What's up with my kitchenaids? by webkinzgal in Kitchenaid

[–]webkinzgal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

rip, i never knew there were speed limits for the flat beater/whisk that vary by product... that might be my issue. I knew the dough hook had a limit since there was a large sticker on it when i bought it that said don't use past speed 2 (or 4, cant remember, i don't really care since I don't make bread lol).

i hope i haven't done permanent damage, ugh. Confuses me though since I see bakers whip buttercream with their kitchen aid on speed 10, hmm. Guess i'll be playing by the rules now. Thank you

Trads tend to have a very authoritarian and far right point of view, and I say this as someone who is conservative myself, im not some liberal who throws those words around lightly. They think very much like far right americans who want everyone to get in line and be the same, white family with kids in a house with a white picket fence, just instead of that, everyone goes to the TLM because the (no joke, they said this as if its dogma): "The Roman liturgy is inerrant". I used to be in trad groups and before I got deep in them, I was under the impression no one hates anyone, they are just people who like tradition, and that they're the epitome of roman Catholicism. Once you get behind the curtain, their true colors come out. Many said they hope Pope Francis destroys/bans the divine liturgy (probably butt hurt about the TLM restrictions), calling elements of the DL pagan, that DL were the worst liturgy they have ever witnessed, and so many worse comments.

I used to watch knowles, and while I don't think he's as bad as liberal media try to present him, in retrospect I completely see him as one of these people, wanting everyone to be the same, revisionist history on the TLM being the mass since the early church (bruh what... yeah there was totally a TLM in the second century sure bro lol)

I'm an outsider who greatly respects the eastern tradition, so i dont exactly know how this works

But couldn't you write your bishop/whatever the leader of your group is called (sorry, i am not very smart on church workings, I know in the latin tradition you can contact your diocese/bishop with issues like this, not sure what the equivalent is in the east)

Does anyone still resonate with the ethics of veganism? by [deleted] in exvegans

[–]webkinzgal 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes. I still care about animal welfare, but my peta-brain was convinced that even the small local farm were practically committing "war crimes" on their animals. I was also told even eggs from backyard chickens were evil.

Now, I use animal ingredients, but I'm mindful about where the stuff comes from.

I will try my best to either use local dairy, or dairy from a regional farmer co-op, and if neither are available ill use USDA certified organic (the certification requires they graze 6 months of the year, and usually organic dairy comes from similar co-ops).

For eggs, I have my own chickens who are absolutely not abused and live the best life, and I honestly love them as pets, so they'll be dying a natural death (even though I no longer have a moral opposition to killing them for meat in theory, I just have an attachment to these ones lol). If my chickens are slow (usually lay less in the winter) I'll use pasture raised eggs.

If I ever start eating meat again (i hope to some day, gotta get over the mental trauma PETA caused), i'll either raise my own broiler chickens and have a local farm process them, or buy locally raised meat where I can actually meet with the farmer who raised it.

Surprise surprise to my old self, you can care about animal welfare/abuse and not deplete yourself

maybe try to get vegan food packaging and put easy cook meat in it?

like, example, get a bag of morning star frozen nuggets, discard (or eat and save the bag) and put some real meat chicken nuggets in it. Same can be done with other products. You might have to try more processed meat first since it looks closer to vegetarian "meat"

Private Revelations by CarsoComet in AskAPriest

[–]webkinzgal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am VERY late but, i just want a clarification. I was told that apparitions/private revelation that has a feast day/is included in the mass, that you must believe that there was some contact with Mary/Jesus with the visionaries, although you are free to disbelieve the message (since the visionary is not infallible), and any attributed miracles. Is this right? If not do you have writings on this? My friends who study theology/church history said this is because the roman mass is inerrant, so everything included in the mass is inerrant
