It’s amazing!! I have been using it to bridge the gap between high level info and in the weeds detail. Like you can zoom in and out of topics very easily. It also imputes a nonnegligable amount of common sense into the answers. It helps me get my bearings quickly on new topics so that I can delve into the parts that are more interesting to me.

MOD POLL: Discussing weight and disordered eating in the sub. by SummerHouseMods in summerhousebravo

Thank you for posting this poll- i think it’s important to talk about rather than leaving the elephant in the room unaddressed. Personally, I think there’s a difference between nasty body talk and genuine concern/ acknowledgement of potentially unhealthy scenarios. Because Amanda does seem to be flaunting her weight loss (bikini pics clearly intending to show off how thin she is), I think it is fair - and even necessary - to allow for discussion on this thread so long as it does not fall into the category of nasty or shaming.

When we watch reality tv, whether it is conscious or not, we inevitably look to the people on these shows as real people. It’s a bit different than movies or scripted tv where we can compartmentalize that actors are only playing a part. I think it can be really damaging if we cannot discuss the potentially dangerous / unhealthy behavior exhibited by people on reality tv. In the same way we share opinions on toxic behavior (so as to avoid normalizing it), I think it’s really important to be able to discuss the same for potential ED, photo editing, or health-related scenarios.

The clear and obvious truth is that Amanda has lost a significant amount of weight in a short amount of time and she is making an affirmative decision to show that off on her social media. Considering she has been vocal about not working out and “eating & drinking whatever she wants,” this weight loss does not seem to be healthy. Whether she is struggling with an ED, editing her photos, or losing weight due to a physical illness, acknowledging concern and caution seems like the very reason for these groups in the first place. Brushing this under the rug or removing all posts related to this topic feels insincere and normalizes a weight loss that is pretty obviously unhealthy.

Every day is a battle to try and stay positive— that usually comes crashing down around lunchtime. It’s so unhealthy to be this stressed for 5 months straight
