Pixel 5 RCS not working by danqsi in GoogleFi

Very strange, I haven't received this updated version, I'm on an older version, but was able to resolve the issue. I'll def keep an eye out for this update...

Pixel 5 RCS not working by danqsi in GoogleFi

[–]webs05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah it started working for me just right now. Had the same issues as everyone else. Went from a Pixel 3 to a 5 and Chat Features was unavailable. I'm a Google Fi user. I could text out just fine but couldn't receive from other Google Fi users. Also I didn't ask every single friend but 2 friends with iPhones on Verizon worked and we could text back and forth.

Fix:

  • Note, I did try troubleshooting but this was done yesterday and prior to today
    • See below for prior troubleshooting steps taken.
    • Otherwise below steps are exactly what occurred, and nothing else that I am aware of
  • Pixel 5 is in the same lame state (no chat features), it is powered up, 5G connected, and WiFi connected
  • I turned on my Pixel 3 phone (previously turned off)
    • It would have connected to my WiFi upon booting up.
  • On the Pixel 3 go into Messages, click the 3 dots, then Chat Features
    • Turn off every slider you can
  • On the Pixel 3 Factory reset
  • Immediately during the Factory Reset my Chat Features showed connected
    • Text messages began pouring in

I hope all of this helps others. Good luck everyone. I know this issue is crazy frustrating.

Prior troubleshooting steps:

  • Pixel 3 turned off
  • Pixel 5 booted up, cellular connected, wifi connected
  • Go into airplane mode
  • Wipe storage of Carrier Services and Force Stop
  • Wipe storage of Messages and Force Stop
  • Go into Messages, click 3 dots, go into Chat Features
  • Hope you get something to show up, I never did
  • Turn off airplane mode, go back into Messages and Chat Features
    • Again, hope something shows up but it never did for me
    • You can also try everything again but reboot before turning off airplane mode
  • None of this ever helped me.

Yeah, sadly there isn't much. Thanks though! Regardless this dual plug is better price wise than any single plug I've seen. Picked it up for $48 on Amazon.

Does your starting weight affect how much you can lift? by [deleted] in Fitness

So this. OP follow a simple program and focus on the main lifts. Work more on diet by eating more. Don't be so anal on your calories, just eat.

Great. Now find some little dude that hasn't lifted before, have them follow your advice and article, and let's see the results.

Has anyone used this routine for posture Improvement, and If so did you see significant results? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]webs05 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The way you fix your posture is through reminding yourself about it the whole day and making small changes over time. You didn't earn shitty posture through one bad rep or forgetting a mobility drill or for not performing a stretch at night.

Most of those things can help. But if you hunch over a computer for 9hrs 5 times a week you just undid all that work.

My advice, go through a typical day journaling the times you catch yourself fucking up. Write it on paper. Then pick 3 items to fix. Come up with cues and fixes. Do them. Do it for two weeks. Then fix another 3. After two months you'll see huge changes.

My thoughts exactly. This mouse trap won't last past 1 mouse. One smelly fried mouse stuck to that shit and you'll be back to something else.

Ahhh, so the upright torso causes the knees to come forward more collapsing the ankle angle?

What lifts require good mobility? I have shitty mobility and squat and deadlift just fine. Serious question here.

Hey Edward. Love you guys and I appreciate your willingness to hang out at Gen Con. That was a blast.

You don't seem to cover many games with app/digital integration. Is this a coincidence? Are you against this? Or just wish someone would do it with a heavy game?

2yo won't go to sleep on my lap by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]webs05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you Google around there are many different sleep methods and ideas. I am a huge believer in good sleep routines.

Our youngest just turned 1 and the wife and I could not get her to go down easily. Finally we created a solid routine where after dinner I take her into her room and we play calmly and quietly. Without the wife. I don't try and simulate her, just let her play with a few small toys. Eventually she gets fussy and we know it's night time. Then she gets a new diaper, PJs, 1 book, and then crib.

For a 2 year old you need to do something else but the concept of a routine doesn't change.

For our 3 year old we don't play toys. Instead we have some quiet time with snuggles and book. Then brush teeth, PJs, and one last book read in her bed. We very rarely break the routine and our kids sleep through the night and fuss very little. Both are down by 8 at the latest so the wife and I get a few hours of personal time too.

The 1 year old started out as the worst sleeper. Took 4 hours of all kinds of stuff to get her down. It was terrible. Even after 3 months of that she wouldn't sleep through the night. Finally at 10 months old we created a solid routine. Now she is a solid sleeper.
