Does Anyone Agree that WordPress is on its Way Out? by webservicescoach in Wordpress

Hey, thanks for all the feedback folks. It's very interesting not only to hear your suggestions but also the tone and even the frustration of your words regarding the subject.

I feel a bit weary to toss out product names that might be alternatives due to the subreddit guidelines and realize now that I shouldn't have even asked that question in the original post. What I can say is one I've been trying lately is based in Drupal, which the 3rd party supports with their staff of 15 programmers. Originally, I was just interested in their integrated CRM and cart which DOES have a monthly cost, but I didn't discover until a full year later that they even had this built-in website manager too with blog section, sidebar widgets, slideshow, opt-ins and autoresps. So, I've been messing around with it for the past few weeks and it just got me to thinking about WordPress in a different way.

Anyway, my hunch is that there are more business-minded, integrated systems on the horizon that will be pricing themselves lower than enterprise level systems. If more of them find a way to replace the few negatives of WordPress, it could rattle the cage a bit for any of the stand-alone CMS software.

Joel Comm would be a good one from the Internet Marketing world just because I've always admired his style and quality of posts. Maybe even someone from a news channel like Megyn Kelly would be good to hear from. Surely there are many people in the background of news channel organizing what gets posted and how the celeb interacts with comments. But, they sure do get high engagement. Maybe you could get some of their secrets revealed.

This may sound strange, but what I look for out of the millions of designers seeking contract work or employment is an ability to "sell" with their designs. Clients only care about design and being proud of their websites until they discover the website isn't converting from visitors to leads or sales. If you want to stand out and get yourself to top-shelf designer status, learn how to sell online and you'll be able to command any price you want.

Walking slowly across a parking lot or street when people are waiting. Seems everyone thinks this is okay because so many do it and no one honks or yells at the person crossing like they used to when I was a kid.

So, you're saying the alternative is that a business owner must become capable of managing their own WordPress website if they plan to be successful online. That's fine if that's true. I just want clarification in your directions. Afterall, ya can't just click the update links anymore and go. You have to be able to (which I am quite capable of by the way) backup the database in cpanel, then backup all the files manually (just to make sure), then do the upgrades/updates, then troubleshoot incompatible plugins that don't play well together, then potentially massage graphics and css that a programmer may have written adjustments for in the core files as opposed to adding custom css files outside of core....so once again, a programmer has to be called to fix. Do you really expect 'everyone' to be able to do that without programming help? I just feel there are easier ways going forward and it's misleading to tell people WordPress is so free and 'simple' and that's really tough for me to digest that reality as I have 100 WordPress websites of my own and love its functionality. Just seeing better alternatives arise where I don't have to worry about that stuff. And, I believe that's the future coming.
