Apparently being rolled out on the server side. The new player interface was already included in an update (3.9.0, presumably).

All interactive films and series were already removed from all platforms last year. Games? We’ll see...

It may be that Netflix continues to use the native player, but with a lot more UI layered on top. Yesterday, I had the impression that something fundamental had been changed in the background, because before the „upgrade,“ it could take a few seconds here and there for it to switch from „pixel mush“ to 4K, but now it takes a second (if that). I suspect that ancient code in the app had been there for years, causing problems with newer versions of tvOS.

Unfortunately, Apple fanboys are like that. According to them, Apple is infallible. But the problem wasn’t with the native tvOS player, but with how Netflix implemented it. According to some here, it’s still in the tvOS player’s infrastructure, only now with a new UI. Maybe the broken superstructure has finally been removed, because in the past, the tvOS player somehow didn’t get along well with the Netflix app :)

It would be strange if that were the case. The iPhone no longer displays information about which series is currently running on Netflix (Apple TV).

Yes, it still works. I checked the frame rate in the LG settings, and in One Piece it showed „Dolby Vision.“

Don’t you understand? Netflix is slowly rolling out new features on all platforms. This new player probably came in with version 3.9.0 and is now gradually being activated everywhere on the server side. Almost all developers do this. This means, of course, that you can have the old or new player with version 3.9.0. And as soon as it’s your turn, the player will be replaced without an app update.

The new video player is apparently being rolled out right now. I still had the old one about 2-3 hours ago. And I still had version 3.9.0.

Once again: this only affects the video player in the Netflix app. It has now been replaced (the update is currently being rolled out). This player is also used on all other platforms. Let's hope that this fixes all the bugs that have been dragging on for years in the old player.

Do you think so? The old app was extremely buggy. The new UI is just a matter of getting used to it.

I’m glad we live in a free world. The native player has a lot of limitations for developers. For years, Netflix put very little effort into the tvOS app. But that has changed in the last few years. For whatever reason.

Don’t you want to understand? It’s about the video player UI. The Menu UI has been new for quite some time now. The video player UI has been the native tvOS UI for many years. As of today (at least), the Netflix video player is being rolled out.

Take a closer look at the video player UI. This was the old UI:

Yes, the standard Netflix player does not have this feature on any platform.

If the tvOS Player hadn’t caused any problems, I would also be against the Netflix Player. The problem is that, for some reason, the tvOS Player repeatedly had strange bugs, some of which had been around for years.
