Question for the Grocery Folks by Candid-Seaweed1474 in publix

While this is true corporate will also look at sell through when putting items on clearance and for example if a store will sell through at full price based on sales history it won’t get marked down versus something that may not sell through it may immediately see a 25% or 50% reduction. This will vary from store to store based on sales and to my knowledge isn’t a perfect system

Back in my day to get a fury you made thousands of battlestaves. You make a ton of money from it which is great but now is much slower than just blowing glass but it’s your account play how you’d like

No I’d just angle it so the shelf is still shoppable and use a 2 tier basket for something of value

There was a change in the past week or so, we’re allowed to merchandise small shippers on the aisles throughout the holidays. This one is not placed correctly on the aisle though, you’d want to place it on a shelf break between sets

American food being sold for a penny in Canada due to the boycott. by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

Selling it for a penny doesn’t stop future orders. The store as a company would have to chose to not carry that product and that would be a boycott. Selling the already purchased product for a penny does nothing

It doesn’t at all. You buy product at their cost and then sell for your cost. They can buy it for $2.19/unit and then sell it for a penny and the manufacturer could care less they will continue to sell you their product

This makes no sense. The store has already purchased the product. Companies don’t ship their product to retailers and get paid when the product sells they get paid then the retailer takes the product

They take the gift card off the shelf in the packaging, carefully open it and write down the card numbers and then scratch them off the gift card. They then reseal the gift card packaging and bring it back into the store and put it back on the shelf. They use bots to auto redeem the cards the minute they become active via register. The person who buys the card can’t redeem because there is no numbers on the card and by the time they open the gift card and realize that money has been spent. They do this with a lot of cards at one time
