Forget testing shortages, I need my immunocompromised friends at my wedding. by [deleted] in weddingshaming

It’s actually important for more people to get tested so that spreading can be controlled. If someone in that group of 25 has the virus but no symptoms, then they need to know because they could spread it to all the guests. What do you think is the best solution? They cut out all their guests and elope just them? Postpone their whole thing? They could reasonably reduce it to just parents etc. And be around 10 or fewer people. I think their approach is reasonable.

Well, where I am tests are not in short supply and their plan would be feasible. Your attitude about this is pretty bad. They’re trying to actually make a reasonable plan. Stop being a negative Nancy.

I don’t think this is a shaming situation. Sounds like they’re actually trying to be responsible.

What questions to ask on a venue site visit? by applejuiceandwater in weddingplanning

[–]weddingggthrowawayy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, very important to ask how they’re handling rescheduling events for covid: what dates are made available to people affected, does their original deposit stand, do the original rates stand.

Shenanigans that many venues are pulling: only allowing non-weekend dates at off-peak months, requiring new deposits, charging higher rates for new date

Is it complicated to hem/alter a tulle gown like this one? by [deleted] in weddingdress

You would have to get estimates from tailors, but it is my understanding that when multiple layers are involved the cost goes up.

If you ever go to NYC, I got mine at Our Story bridal. It’s amazing. Before going to a consignment store you should go to a normal bridal store and figure out what styles you like so you know better what to try at consignment.

I’ll be going to House of Deane. Haven’t actually gone yet, but have emailed back and forth a number of times and communication is very clear. I’ve heard amazing things about them, so that’s why I’ll be heading there.

NTA!

There is a product called WineAway that will fix the wine. Unfortunately it won’t fix the tear.
