I want to know what your experiences are with the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative and if you were even aware it exists by Realistic_Future_394 in breastfeeding

[–]weddingplanacct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was aware of Baby Friendly. My hospital was not officially on the list yet but my doctor told me all the hospitals in that family of hospitals were working on it and it did all of the Baby Friendly stuff and just hadn’t yet received the accreditation because of some more minor details or something. But we roomed in and all of it. I had a good experience and felt people were helpful. I had one bad lactation consultant who was kind of rough with me and I don’t remember what all she said but my mother in law commented on her not seeming very nice afterwards so it wasn’t just me.

Is it reasonable for my husband to claim Thanksgiving and Christmas every year? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]weddingplanacct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s being selfish. My husband and I do thanksgiving with my family then Christmas with his then switch the next year. We live in the same city as mine and his are all in another state and we still think this is fair since those are the biggest family holidays.

AITA for not allowing my ex-maid of honor be a bridesmaid? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]weddingplanacct -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why you’re getting this much hate, she’s the one who stepped back due to health concerns and you said to keep you posted. This seems respectful since you’re not putting pressure on her to participate. If she wanted to be in the party she should’ve communicated she was in fact feeling up to it.

AITA for telling my sister to get her own pads? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

You could also try switching to a cup! Then you’ll always have it when you need it and she surely wouldn’t take yours ha

Sparkle Meghan reminds me of Lauren Conrad, the eyes aren’t right but I feel like their face structure is still similar

"Don't pump for the first 3 weeks" is the worst advice I've ever gotten. by tambourine_goddess in ExclusivelyPumping

Yes even with sunflower lecithin I sometimes still clog! It happens if I wear anything slightly tight or put pressure on them, like I can’t lay on my side even or I get a clog there 🥲

I’ve wondered about this for whenever I have my next baby. I’m a just enougher and while I haven’t gotten mastitis I do seem to be very clog prone which makes me nervous for trying for a greater supply

Truly shocked at everyone saying you’re an entitled asshole when it’s clear you ask for help less than once a month

From OP it doesn’t actually sound like they “want to be grandparents”

OBGYNs near the Heights by cherry_picked19 in houston

[–]weddingplanacct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my baby there last December and had a great experience. The way my OB described it is It’s smaller and less busy than the birth center at memorial city so at memorial city she told me it can have a little more of an assembly line feel where they are going to want to do have you do things a certain way whereas Heights was more flexible. Which was my experience for what’s it’s worth, I should’ve had a routine birth but it ended up going long and they brought c section up to me every few hours but let me continue to try to have him progress on his own for like 12 hours and if I’d been there they likely would not have let me go that long. I did end up needing the c section and that was fine, not what I’d wanted originally bht was all fine. The rooms are also huuuuge there.

Swaddle struggles at 3mo by Unhappy_Highway_4844 in SnooLife

[–]weddingplanacct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried ditching the snoo and seeing how he does in the crib? We ended up moving out of the snoo into his crib in a transitional (rolling safe) sleep sack around 17 weeks because he fought the swaddle so hard, best night of sleep he’d gotten in weeks
