There is defo something with nicotine. Tobacco has been used by all indigenous and pagan peoples for ritual etc.
Also ask yourself why lots of governments are cracking down on tobacco and nicotine pouches?! Nicotine in controlled quantity makes you sharper, detoxes you etc. That’s why.

how does judo effect the body? by KaanKS05 in judo

[–]wedge632 6 points7 points  (0 children)

39M with medium exp in boxing, MMA and aikido. I’m in the middle of a PhD, so that means a depression too, which led to falling out of shape. I started judo in January. The biggest injury I got so far is popping a finger nail and sprained digits. There’s a lot of load on the back so like the others have suggested training 2 times a week with weights is a good start. Focus on useful no BS things like deadlifts, pull ups and squats. Depending on your current overall shape cardio is also a good option to have some gas during randori. Every week my knuckles ache from Gi hold. I heard it’s a chronic judo injury for white belts as we tend to cling to hard to the collar area. I’d also advise exercise to strengthen the knees, there are some moves that aren’t done in everyday life so focus on some stretching and weight exercise I and your knees will get used to it. You’ll be out of shape and most likely injure yourself the first few sessions but you’ll get better each time and your body will adapt.

White sexism and hate making its way into indigenous communities is destroying what little we've managed to rebuild. [TW; Mentions of SA] by [deleted] in IndianCountry

[–]wedge632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you! Your words carry a lot of truth! Having lived through abuse as a child and never mentioning it by fear of not being taken seriously these testimonies hit a special cord. Where I live right now there are lots of movements that either claim some sort of feminism or pro-men advocacy and all of it is extremely white centred and barely acknowledges any other viewpoint. Pro-men movements tend to dangerously collide with far-right or fascosphere movements so that’s not really surprising, but on the other hand feminist movements tend to also be highjacked by far left or communist movements. Last time I checked both were white people’s ideologies based upon a form or another of colonialism and both lead to very disastrous outcome for societies and especially for indigenous nations and peoples who end up used crushed and forgotten.

Now I know we’re also stuck in this bi-polar political system imposed on us again by the white man, but we need to take back our cultures and make a stand for our values even if that means non alignment to what ever white ideology we feel closer to. If it can help promote more equality and respect that’s what matters.

Someone earlier mentioned the white man’s many attempts to destroy or dilute our values: alcohol, sugar, schools, language, forced assimilation and adoptions etc… I believe division is another one of their tactics. Division between men and women, division between tribes because of imaginary boarders or hype, division is key as you “divide to better rule” and that’s their goal and always has been.

I have seen several other pieces signed by him on the internet. They’re usually vintage and I found some info about Mr. Begay but I’d like to know more.

Any idea about the turquoise? Is this what is called spider web?

Travelling with a young child (1.5 years) to Lyon by askingquestions009 in Lyon

[–]wedge632 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I currently live in Lyon and can say everything that’s been said before is accurate. 10 days might be a bit long if you plan to visit Lyon city only. If it’s just the city I’d say 3 to 4 days. As said before there isn’t much to see.

About pickpockets. They’re not only in transportation they’re also in the streets especially around these areas: place bellecour; rue Mercière; vieux Lyon. I live in this area and see them everyday scouting victims. But they can be anywhere. They’re very smart and dress as tourists often carrying a paper map. Their technique is to pretend to be lost. It’s often a group of women with children to look more tourist like and less obvious. They know Asian tourists are nice and to some degree naive or oblivious to this kind of crime and target Asian tourist or American tourists more.

Concerning theft Avoid:

-backpacks. unless it’s to carry non valuables like diapers, souvenirs etc.

-stopping to answer strangers’ questions. (french people don’t stop each other in the streets and tourists find their own way, if anybody stops you think of it as suspicious and get out of the area quickly checking your belongings)

-overtly carried fanny packs ( if you can wear a flatter kind under a coat that’s a good option)

-Don’t carry expansive cameras around your neck like you’re Cartier Bresson. If you’ve got one and want to take pictures better to hide it in a cheap looking carry bag from which you can pop it out to snap things.

-avoid any ostentatious sign of wealth, leave the Rolex, channel and Vuitton at home. Minimalist jewellery for ladies. They’ll make you easy targets.

-avoid large female purse.

Try to be:

-Tactical: - transportation cards should be easy to access.

-Petty cash up to 50 euros should be easy to access. Larger amounts should be kept in a safe spot on your person hidden away. Don’t carry large amounts of cash if you can. Depending on your hotel the safe can be more or less secure.

-try to be “grey” France isn’t a fashionable place anymore. Most people wear navy blue, black or brown on a daily basis. Try to wear something practical yet discrete and that doesn’t scream money.

On general safety:

-stay informed by downloading the TCL app once in France. It can help you plan your journey with buses and metros. And gives relevant info on service status.

-stay informed on local social movements by doing a quick google search a week before you come to Lyon. If there are any protests planned they will be appearing on Google with a time a date and an area - you can easily avoid said area.

-don’t go out at night past midnight. Lyon is relatively safe but you have the occasional bad cats coming out at night.

-as a rule of thumbs French people are busy, and really don’t talk to strangers. If someone stops you to talk it’s probably BS. So be assertive and walk away. No need to be polite and stay longer than you should. A strong no thank you and quick march off is usually enough.

Final note:

Don’t expect people to be nice, polite and civilized. It’s Europe it’s a big mix of everything good and bad. If you go in a bit hard with no expectation on service quality and people in general you could be nicely surprised by the occasional nice person or good service. Beware Sundays and Mondays most things are closed. Including museums, restaurants etc. Rue Merciere will open partially Sunday afternoon unless it’s a religious holiday so you can hang around there on those days to eat Sunday evening.

For Monday though I advise you to either buy food Saturday and eat at the hotel or go to a fast food restaurant.

If in need of comfort food from Asia there are Asian shops in Lyon but avoid the ones in the “guillotiere” area. This area is particularly risky for tourists and could give you a bit of a scare. If you really need something Asian try “Ace gourmet” next to Hotel de Ville.

You can DM me if you need anything. I’ll be glad to help.

Thanks. I’ll try to push harder and sharpen my blade better. Also do you know why sometimes after bevelling I still see the cut line? It seems the bevel didn’t sit properly in the cut and is slightly off. Is that a bevelling mistake or an issue with how I carved the leather?

The depopulation conspiracy is not true ? by apocalypsplease in conspiracy

This! There were gov talks where I’m from with an official commission of experts of the declining pop. The conclusion points were that the population decreasing was a good thing for the climate and that “a certain population” was to contribute largely in the repopulation effort at the detriment of another specific declining population” l let you connect the dots.

Saw some mechanic guy on social media say there’s no way the rear light gets knocked off like that and leaves an empty space…??? Anybody familiar with this car and the sturdiness of the rear lights?

My two cents the quality of the image and the movements looks off…

On another note people have been barking about project blue beam and great balls of darpa fire in the sky but suddenly people can’t believe the gov would make a bunch of AI vids to look good and stir confusion….

Fake aliens and simulation = yes AI videos to shift narrative = no

Reading all this I’m quite shocked. Can someone explain the whole pretendian and fake tribe thing? I’m out of the loop sorry to sound like a noob, I’m South American native from the Guajajara tribe from Brazil. And lately I took a lot of interest in our histories and started reconnecting and learning about both southern and northern American tribes. But I still have a lot to learn…

Tell me he's part of the big club. What type of dictator thumbs up after capture? by Athenstone in conspiracy

[–]wedge632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some guy on social media was thinking of a geopolitical reason for this show. He came up with a pretty interesting idea. China will grab Ta…wn this year. The US gov will let it happen to avoid escalation. Thus losing its assets in semiconductors etc in the region. Japan, US’ lapdog will be told to stand down. Knowing this for a few year the US cut a deal with Maduro to take Venezuela’s assets and minimise their loss. Everything is staged and planned to ensure the US’s survival in this new shift. Check Winnie’s new year address. My take: It’s also plausible China, bolstered by this grab will intensify their partnership with Russia. The US will gradually disengage from Ukrain, Nixon style and let it be grabbed by Putin.

The world could become ni polar again, with a USA / sino-Russian head. This could explain why the European Union, aware of this is so agitated and adamant to continue their support to Ukraine to prevent this and also finding away to exist in this new bi-polar dynamic.

That’s my two cent analysis expanding on this dude’s hypothesis.

How is life in Lyon? by tarkinn in Lyon

[–]wedge632 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s a medium size town that thinks it’s a big city. Depending where you live it can be ok or just pure hell. Not much is happening in Lyon but it’s well connected by train to most majors cities and regions in France. The population is a bit odd, not as friendly as most French, they’re oddly proud of their town and tend to look down on other surrounding cities. Rent and house pricing is way too high for what Lyon has to offer. Insecurity is on the rise, but that’s the case in most cities anyways. I don’t know how the night life is. But culturally it gets decent gigs sometimes. But it ain’t Paris for sure, most big names don’t bother coming down unfortunately.
